Where we work

Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

About the Role

As Senior Manager, Product Design for Instructor UX, you’ll lead design for Udemy’s instructor-facing products across mobile and web. You’ll shape how millions of instructors around the world create, manage, and grow their teaching businesses on Udemy.

This is a player-coach role: you will balance hands-on design work with leading a team of talented designers in Dublin, while closely collaborating with peers across the U.S. and Europe. You’ll be instrumental in defining the future of instructor experience, ensuring our tools are not only powerful and scalable, but also intuitive and inspiring.

In this role you will: Lead design for instructor-facing experiences, ensuring our tools empower creators while aligning with Udemy’s broader learner journey. Act as a player-coach, balancing hands-on design with mentoring and developing a high-performing team. Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver consistent, competitive, and visually excellent UX across platforms. Simplify complex workflows into elegant, intuitive solutions that scale globally. Influence stakeholders across regions and functions through clear storytelling, prototypes, and design strategy. Embed AI-powered innovation into instructor tools, helping creators work smarter and reach more learners. Build and champion a strong design culture in Dublin, aligned with Udemy’s global design org.

What You Bring 10+ years of experience in UX, product design, and visual design for web and mobile products; experience with other device classes is a plus. 5+ years leading design teams, mentoring, and fostering growth in product design orgs. A portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end design leadership, from concept through execution, with examples of instructor, creator, or platform-focused work. Strong visual and interaction design skills, with fluency in modern UX patterns, video-based products, and mobile experiences; game design sensibility is a plus. Experience working with design systems, user research, and iterative design processes at scale. Familiarity with AI solutions, subscription models, or e-learning platforms is advantageous. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire trust and alignment across diverse stakeholders. A track record of building collaborative, positive team cultures that elevate craft and impact. Passion for our mission: transforming lives worldwide through learning. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

You’ve built strong partnerships across PDE, influencing priorities and outcomes through design leadership. Your team describes the culture as collaborative, empowering, and career-defining.
