ROLE SUMMARY
The Patient Services COE, Patient Affordability Solutions Sr Manager is responsible for executing initiatives that ensure life-changing treatments are financially within reach while safeguarding the brand bottom line through gross to net preservation.The Sr. Manager will operationalize patient affordability solutions (i.e., co-pay, vouchers, PA solutions, etc…) as assigned for specific brands or business units, which could include pharmacy and medical benefit solutions.The Sr. Manager will work with the Director, Affordability Solutions and Brand to execute on approved strategy, coordinate program monitoring and vendor management to enabling patients access prescribed treatment while balancing GTN impact, brand performance, organization goals and objectives.
This role will require tactical execution, project management, and execution of approved affordability programs. This will include vendor management, performance monitoring, and competitive benchmarking. In addition, this role has the responsibility of ensuring compliance with all associated Pfizer policies and serves as the affordability subject matter expert.
The Sr. Manager will partner closely with brand teams, USMA Payer Brand Marketers, Patient Services, SPP Strategy, BU Patient Solutions, legal, compliance, privacy, external vendors, Procurement, and Finance.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support specific initiatives in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Patient Affordability solutions, including:
Executing and maintaining affordability solutions which may include design, development, execution, and maintenance of program/sAffordability solutions vendor engagement and managementLead RFP selection process (if required)Project management of service enhancements and initiativesRecommend budget requirements and manage dedicated brand dollars to affordability solutionsMonitor key operations metrics and conduct reviews with vendors. Integrate, lead or coordinate appropriate access interventions and tools within the HUB or appropriate channel, this could include co-pay offerings, relay health, Cover My Meds, and other such appropriate servicesDevelopment/co-development of key tactical elements
Understand the key drivers of product uptake in the various SOC’s and how affordability solutions can assist Execute affordability solutions that help patients access and stay on appropriate therapyDevelopment of affordability solutions content, collateral, printing, distribution and field communicationsReview Committee (RC) representation for appropriate materialsFinancial and Analytics Assessments
Work with analytics to understand affordability financial assessments to optimize access and GTN management strategies.Work with cross-functional stakeholders to assess the optimal affordability solutions for given brands.Review program costs and provide insights into design changes to balance brand performance, expenses, and GTN.Collaboration with Key Stakeholders
Coordinate with the Director, Affordability solutions to ensure optimization and synergy across vendors and programs.Work closely with Analytics to make changes to affordability models reflecting the competitive environment and business rules.Collaborate with HUB and SPP assigned colleagues to integrate programs within those channels.Identify opportunities, in collaboration with key stakeholders, to address key affordability and access challenges impacting brands.Support appropriate team members in developing affordability promotional materials for patients and providers.Partner with relevant legal and compliance colleagues, including P&A legal, BU Compliance, Privacy, and brand legal.Ensure execution of auditing and monitoring plans with NACO.Implement best practices and standard operating procedures at the Direction of the Director, Affordability Solutions.Work with procurement to update vendor SOWs/MSAs for new product additions or new services.Ensure all operations are consistent with Pfizer Policy and compliance standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree required6+ years of pharmaceutical experienceStrong project management skillsA high attention to detail with a customer service orientationExperience and/or familiarity with design and implementation of access & affordability support and programs (copay).Working knowledge of the compliance and regulatory environment for manufacturers in the pharmaceutical space.Experience with financial modeling and gross-to-net (GTN) impactPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced working in a cross functional, matrix organizationStrong vendor management experience. Plus for working with affordability vendors i.e., CoverMyMeds, RelayHealth, Change Healthcare, ConnectiveRx, IQVIA, etc…Experience in executing and managing highly complex programs and projectsUnderstanding of reimbursement dynamics given multiple sites-of-careStrong financial competence and analytical skillsExperience in marketing, payer marketing, specialty pharmacy, strategic and tactical planning, and business analytics a plusPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to travel on airplane and trains to go to Pfizer NYC and/or Collegeville, vendor locations, and various meetings.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
The position will require travel to vendors, conferences, agencies, and other access related venues/meetings. This includes overnight travel.
