What's the opportunity?
You will drive data and reporting Control Management activities and lead in delivering and executing the development of the Monitoring and Testing program. You will lead a team of data experts and provide oversight to enable strategic execution and development and manage capacity planning for timely execution of program development. As the team’s subject matter expert, you will partner with Operational Risk peers and business partners, and be accountable for developing, maintaining and designing the monitoring protocols to ensure Operational Risk ecosystem of data base test programs are operating effectively while managing the team’s key deliverables.
What will you do?
Provide strategic direction on key control testing/monitoring from development and infrastructure standpoint and lead a team in developing data-based queries for key control testing and monitoring for the different regulatory programsChampion testing automation and introduction of new technologies to the team, ensuring all data-based queries load on time and correctlySupport different departments within Operational Risk and Enterprise Control Testing with data related inquiries and issues and conduct Independent Quality AssuranceEnsure team is managing workload, capacity, and provide any coaching as requiredPrioritize work to address regulatory, audit issues, and be main point of contact for any technology related questions as part of audit walkthroughsEnsure work produced by team is delivered on time, and in line with requirements documentsPromote and nurture a risk aware cultureActively communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or globallyWhat you need to succeed
Must have
Experience in leading a team3+ years related work experience in Data analyticsAdvanced expertise in using data querying tools and Python, SAS, SQLExperienced in using Teradata EDW and Enterprise Data Lake to obtain Personal Business and Commercial Businesses dataKnowledge of RBC risk management framework and applications to data and analyticsProfessional oral and written communication skills, and ability to effectively converse with technical and non-technical contactsProven analytical and problem-solving skillsSolid experience in risk and control identification and assessment, and ability to proactively identify control weaknesses and propose solutionsDegree in a quantitative field of studyNice to have
