Senior Manager, Metals Process Engineering

The Senior Manager will lead a highly technical team of engineers, technicians, and machinists in executing on our vertical integration portfolio for site-wide machining, micro-machining and laser welding processes for implant and delivery system components.

How you’ll make an impact:

Manage engineering & technician team including individual contributors and oversee the work of assigned manufacturing team within own function or projects. Develop a robust talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies of the department. Drive culture, engage staff morale and ensure employees' safety.Collaborate with other cross-functional team on plans, budgets, and schedules relating to new product development projects, equipment development, install, and qualification, expansions, upgrades and/or new construction within an areaNegotiate solutions with cross-functional groups for continuous improvementManage project activities with the accountability for successful completion of all deliverables to the facility within established schedule, scope and quality objectives. Identify risk, develop mitigation strategies, define alternative solutions, resolve issues, and follow-up on action items in collaboration with cross-functional groupsEnsure continuous execution of engineering related operations within the plant in compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standardsUse performance metrics to ensure proper operations and drive continuous improvement. Drive a value stream mindset and culture of continuous improvement based on lean and Six Sigma principles and EW Production System (EPS)Other incidental duties

What you’ll need (Required):

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 8 years of previous related experienceDemonstrated track record in people management of technical teams


What else you’ll need (Preferred):

Experience in medical device manufacturing and/or new product developmentExperience with equipment driven automated manufacturing processesProven successful project management leadership skillsMBA or other advanced degreeProven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and manufacturing systemExcellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectiveExpert understanding of engineering procedures while addressing issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplineExpert knowledge of financial acumen as it relates to projects and asset managementAbility to manage assigned team and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relationsAbility to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of facilities and asset management to the businessAbility to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organizationAbility to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environmentKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six SigmaAdhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
