Overview:
This position is part of the Enterprise Master Data Services leadership team within the Enterprise Data Platforms organization. We support cross-functional business capabilities by providing enterprise master data and services. We aim to improve data quality and promote data capabilities for all our stakeholders.
We are seeking an organized and results-driven Master Data Operations Manager to join our Master Data Services team. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of US/UK master data management, drive the management of data related service tickets, support data stewardship activities across the enterprise master data towers, and ensure successful integration of new data sources in partnership with the technical leads. The role also includes leading a team of data analysts and stewards who will be responsible for supporting data quality, reporting, and analysis needs in US/UK.
As a key operational leader, you will report directly to the Senior Director of Master Data Services, ensuring that master data is timely, accurate, consistent, and supports enterprise business needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in master data, team leadership, and collaborating with both technical and business teams to drive process improvements and data governance initiatives. This candidate will have the ability to work with each of the functional process SME points and the technical lead within Master Data Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Master Data Operations Management:
Oversee the daily operations of master data, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and timely updates across business applications and platforms.
Collaborate with business and IT teams, in US/UK and HYD to resolve data-related issues, improve data workflows, and enhance data efficiencies.
Monitor and manage service requests related to master data through ServiceNow, emails, etc., ensuring timely resolution in line with SLAs and best practices.
Serve as the primary point of contact for US and UK ServiceNow data incidents, service requests, and change management tickets related to master data operations.
Provide reporting on ticket status and resolution metrics, highlighting trends or areas for improvement in master data management processes.
Lead the stewardship process to ensure that master data is effectively managed across its lifecycle, from creation to retirement, by defining clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability for data stewards. Participate in UAT activities.
Collaborate with business and IT functions to implement and enforce data quality standards, including data validation, cleansing, and enrichment processes including data quality metrics, trends, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
Work with IT teams and business stakeholders to assess new data source requirements, support integration protocols, and collaborate with technical lead for seamless data onboarding from external to internal systems.
Conduct data verification, validation across existing systems, data mapping, and troubleshooting to ensure that new data sources are accurately integrated into existing systems and analytics.
Lead and mentor a team of data stewards/analysts responsible for supporting master data operations, including provide clear objectives, foster a collaborative, high performance culture.
Drive continuous improvement efforts by identifying areas for process optimization within the master data operations lifecycle.
Leverage data analysts to produce actionable reports on master data performance, identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced certifications in Master Data Management (MDM), Data Governance a plus.
Experience:
5-7+ years of experience in data management, with at least 3 years focused on Master Data or MDM.
Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams, including data stewards/ analysts, in an operational environment.
Proven experience with service management systems like ServiceNow, including managing service requests, incidents, and change management processes.
Hands-on experience with MDM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Informatica, Reltio or similar tools), data quality management, and data stewardship frameworks.
Strong background in evaluating the onboarding of new data sources and working with cross-functional teams to support data flow across platforms.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in data management tools, including SQL, data analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel), and/or master data systems.
Knowledge of data integration methods (e.g., ETL, API integrations, middleware solutions) and data mapping techniques.
Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team of data stewards/analysts and cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines.
Strong business acumen, with the ability to align data operations to broader organizational goals and objectives.
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $154,000 - $180,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
