CoStar Group’s research contributes to the most important segment of our economy, helping businesses open offices, retail stores, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities. CoStar Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Lease Comp Quality Control to join our Real Estate Manager business unit.

This role plays a critical part in managing the Richmond, VA based quality control team and will be directly responsible for maintaining the integrity CoStar’s lease data, ensuring it meets the highest quality standards for our clients. As a Senior Manager, Lease Comp Quality Control at CoStar Real Estate Manager, you will be responsible for the hiring, training and the development of the quality control team, along with the Senior Director.  The Senior Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and quality of the lease comparables (lease comps) data that has been analyzed and abstracted by our Lease Comp Research Associates. Additionally, this role will be responsible for all training and feedback relative to quality for the Lease Comp Research Associates Team. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of lease terms and real estate practices, exceptional attention to detail, strong reading comprehension, and a proven ability to manage a team and be responsible for the ongoing learning and development of team members.

This position is full-time in the Richmond office Monday through Friday. The role will report to the Senior Director, Lease Comps.

Responsibility:

Lead a team of Lease Comps Quality Control Analyst providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development.Be directly responsible for the quality of CoStar’s lease comps data.Develop data governance protocols to ensure accurate data input and maintenance.Serve as an authority on legal interpretation of lease terms, ensuring consistency and accuracy in data abstraction and business application.Resolve escalated ambiguities or conflicts in lease language by applying legal judgment and company policy, providing definitive guidance to data teams and stakeholders.Maintain individual and team goals, track performance metrics and conduct regular performance reviews.Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment that emphasizes accountability and continuous improvement.Coordinate and manage the workload and activities of team members to ensure maximum productivity, efficiency and performance is achieved.Participate in collaborative development of training materials and ongoing development opportunities for the team.Actively coach team members to ensure consistent application of best practices and adherence to company standards.Review lease comps abstracted by the Lease Comp Research Associates to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.Assist in identifying and refining quality assurance processes, tools, workflows and training materials to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Collaborate with Lease Comp Research Associates to deliver training, guidance, and actionable feedback for process improvement.Assist the Senior Director, Lease Comps as requested with the hiring of Lease Comps ResearchersCollaborate with other company stakeholders as needed to drive product and development efforts that accelerate efficiencies and quality improvements.Maintain privacy and discretion with all data extracted from leases.Travel as expected to execute on job functions. Travel estimated to be less than 15%

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.10+ years of relevant work experience as a commercial lease attorney, contracts manager, lease administrator or lease abstractor of similar legal documents.Proven ability to directly lead a teamA proven track record of commitment to prior employers.Microsoft Excel 365 experience is required.Understanding of commercial lease structures and terminology.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, changing priorities, and excel in a fast-paced environment.Self-motivated and goal-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal training strongly preferred. Experience in contract law, real estate law, or lease interpretation is highly desirable.Minimum of 3 years of management experienceProven success performing to metrics or key performance indicators (KPI)
