BMS is seeking an IT Business Partner for Japan to oversee the effective delivery of IT capabilities and services that most significantly drive business growth within the market. Join us in advancing patient outcomes through leveraging state-of-the-art technologies.
In this role, you will collaborate with various business teams to define and implement digital solutions aligned with their strategic objectives. Reporting to the Australia and New Zealand IT Business Partner Lead, you will support the local execution of the enterprise IT/Digital strategy. This position focuses on accelerating business digitization through technological innovation, ensuring operations and information systems are reliable, accessible, and secure enabling a competitively differentiated presence in a rapidly evolving scientific and business environment.
The successful candidate will cultivate strong partnerships with market business teams, facilitating the consistent adoption of digital capabilities and capitalizing on innovation opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Domain leadership:
Supports the IT/Digital strategy: Driving the development of realistic and actionable multi-year strategic digital capability roadmaps, informed, and prioritized by business and IT in an enterprise context. Prioritizes the portfolio appropriately and supports the portfolio budget management. Develops compelling business cases: Leads the prioritization and development of strong and clear business cases for digital capability investments in support of the roadmap and aligned with the platform strategy. Defines, measures, and achieves business outcomes for the highest value (at the lowest cost) digital capabilities. Designs Solutions: Supports the design of specific solutions to various business problems. Design, describe, and manage the solution most appropriate for the risks and opportunities involved. Brings an external view: Actively maintains awareness of external drivers in the business domain and relevant technology trends and brings innovative ideas.Strategic leadership:
Builds strong partnerships with business stakeholders: Is viewed by business leaders as an effective partner who plans and delivers digital capabilities, safeguards their digital assets, and supports their strategic goals. Recognized as a thought leader and trusted advisor: Influences the strategic thinking of business leaders and helps business leaders to include future digital capabilities into their planning. Owns the relationship: Has effective working relationships with all relevant business teams, is involved with key business activities and forums, is responsible for building and managing effective business partnership at all levels during project execution, and takes accountability for delivering the value proposition of IT. Drives change: Ensures effective planning, execution, and communication of business change management to support digital capability investments, including business process changes to achieve maximum value from investments. Accountable for ensuring an effective change management plan is in place for their individual projects.Leveraging the matrix organization to drive portfolio execution:
Demonstrates Matrix leadership by ensuring that all IT functions are successful in their delivery of services to the business. Empowers Shared IT teams: Understands IT business partner accountabilities throughout the portfolio lifecycle and builds empowered and trusting partnerships with shared IT team members at all levels.Shows good judgement in communication: Communicates successes and issues accurately, urgently, and to the right audience, and takes accountability for ensuring effective management of expectations with business leaders.Experience & skills

3 plus years’ experience in a similar roleStrong ability and comfort with matrix management in delivering digital capabilitiesFamiliarity with and awareness of the full pharmaceutical industry lifecycleCapable of working cooperatively across boundaries and time zones within a matrix to achieve resultsDemonstrated ability to communicate, influence and partner with business leadersPreference will be given to candidates with experience working for large multi-national companies in a matrix structure.

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
