**What you will be doing:**
The Senior Manager, Internal Communications will support Tangerine’s key strategic priorities, as well as foster employee engagement across a number of communications channels. This includes a lead role in the development, project management and oversight of multiple internal communications initiatives of significant complexity. This role supports executive communications, strategic initiatives, speech writing, executive presentations, town halls, internal communications, internal video production, newsletters, infographics, engagement surveys, and various employee engagement campaigns. This role requires a passionate storyteller and superb writer with the ability to connect the dots and tell meaningful stories through simple and digestible communications.
**Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:**
+ Leads the end-to-end process of internal communications for Tangerine, including conceptualizing and creating the communications strategy, development and delivery/distribution of communications, and measuring success, while ensuring alignment with broader Scotiabank strategic priorities, by:
+ Being a trusted advisor to the leadership team and working closely with business partners, senior management, and other key stakeholders.
+ Leading the development of executive communications to elevate and amplify senior leaders’ visibility, voice, and impact across the bank
+ Producing, coordinating, and executing on various internal communications including announcements, events/townhalls, presentations, videos and online content, as well as managing owned platforms.
+ Ensuring strategic alignment across Communications channels and calendars.
+ Representing Communications on various working teams and at cross-functional meetings.
+ Contributes to the effective operation of the Communications team by:
+ Supporting a high-performance environment that attracts, retains, develops and motivates the team.
+ Fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to further the Bank’s communications objectives.
+ Leveraging feedback from formal and informal channels to deliver strong and aligned communications.
+ Staying current and implementing communications best practices.
+ Actively sharing knowledge and experience to enhance the development of all team members.
+ Fostering a culture that encourages new ideas, effective challenge, and promotes open and honest communication.
+ Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
**Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:**
+ Post-secondary diploma or degree in communications, journalism, business or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum of 7-10 years working experience in a corporate communications or related industry.
+ Experience leading and coaching a high-performing team
+ Exceptional writing abilities – a sharp writer, detail-oriented, creative and a strong editor – and the ability to transform complex subjects into meaningful stories.
+ Ability to ask targeted questions to identify connections across stories.
+ Communications experience in a complex, dynamic, knowledge-based environment.
+ Demonstrated ability to drive internal engagement across a large employee base and amongst a range of stakeholders.
+ Solid strategic thinking skills, with excellent attention to detail, and high-level accountability for the quality and timely completion of projects.
+ Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, comfortable communicating directly with senior executives.
+ Proven project management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
