Step into a leadership role where your expertise in tax compliance and asset management will shape key financial processes and support Spectrum’s growth. This position offers you the opportunity to drive tax strategy, oversee critical reporting, and mentor a talented team—delivering precise, impactful results for Spectrum.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Manage the tax fixed asset processesAssist with system setup. Identify and record monthly activity (additions, transfers, retirements, depreciation, etc.), following federal and state tax requirementsRun year-end close process in appropriate fixed asset ledgersResearch/understand all pertinent changes in tax law related to tax fixed assetsPrepare and review supporting fixed asset reports and other tax work papersManage the depreciation/amortization projection processEnsure accuracy of tax depreciation and the calculation of deferred taxes for fixed assetsMaintain and update internal controls with documentation for the tax fixed asset processes to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-OxleyAssist with various process enhancements to streamline and automate flow of dataInteract with, communicate and respond to requests from other departments and external auditorsDevelop and administer procedures regarding tax requirements.Manage all aspects of tax compliance reportingManage staff and set team performance expectations; provide coaching and instructionWorking Conditions

7+ years of tax analysis, compliance, and reporting experience3+ years of supervisory experienceSkills
Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishSuperior knowledge of fixed asset depreciation schedules and the ability to properly apply recovery periods for different property typesTechnical skills in Accelerated Cost Recovery Systems (ACRS) and Modified Accelerated CostRecovery Systems (MACRS) Ability to analyze and interpret dataAbility to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressureAbility to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner with all levels of management and company personnelAbility to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrentlyAbility to use personal computer and software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.), including advanced Excel skillsAbility to research and resolve technical tax issuesAbility to work independently and manage people and projects simultaneouslyAbility to show judgment and initiative to accomplish job dutiesAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to prioritize and organize effectivelyKnowledge of accounting theoryPreferred Qualifications
