Job Description

Join a dynamic team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, a leader in innovation across Latin America. This role focuses on collaborating with Brazilian national and local governments to support growth in biopharma research/production and environmental protection. Additionally, it involves developing market access, reimbursement, and hospital access strategies for Oncology, Immunodiagnostics, and Pharmacogenomics to increase public sector penetration. The position supports Thermo Fisher Scientific’s mission in Brazil by encouraging relationships with key public policy decision-makers. This includes advocacy and outreach to industry organizations and government leaders at national and local levels. The ideal candidate will drive business growth in Brazil by influencing public policy and market access collaborators and establishing strategic relationships with government bodies.

Essential Job Functions and Expectations:

Develop and implement government relations and public policy strategies to support growth in Brazil.Facilitate communication channels for Thermo Fisher executives with government leaders.Coordinate senior executive meetings, scientific forums, and engagements with government officials.Advice on policy changes, industry trends, and investment directions.Drive the implementation of access strategies, understanding different payer archetypes and regional needs.See opportunities and partner with customers from various backgrounds to achieve situations where everybody wins through partnerships with traditional and non-traditional collaborators to enhance product reach.Foster relationships with academia, industry associations, and research institutions.Engage and collaborate with payers and other relevant market access collaborators.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in public policy, management, healthcare or a related life sciences field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in government affairs and/or market access, ideally with a multinational corporation.Strong network of contacts in the Brazilian life sciences industry.Experience with the Brazilian government, trade institutions, and Conitec (National Commission for the Incorporation of Technologies in the Unified Health System – SUS).Strong business insight and communication skills.Demonstrated advocacy skills in the public-private sector partnership environment.Critical thinking and resilience.Proficient in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.Ability to travel at least 25%.
