**Job Description**
This is a Senior Manager or Principal Attorney position supporting the Global Trade Compliance (ITC) team in conducting audits, assessments and reviews of Inc. businesses to measure compliance with export and import regulations and Special Security Agreement requirements. This position also supports the investigation of matters of interest and preparation of disclosures related to instances of non-compliance. This position requires advanced experience as an trade compliance professional, an understanding of how a trade compliance function supports the business, programs and functions, advanced research, strong writing and communication skills, a high level of organization and follow up skills, the ability to complete detail oriented tasks and to work independently and within a team environment.
This job is located in Falls Church, VA. Hybrid work will be considered for this position.
Job Responsiblities -
+ Demonstrates a high level of expertise with US export and import laws including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
+ As part of the audit, assessment and investigation assignments:
+ Reviews Department of State agreements including Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements and Distribution Agreements and tests for compliance with regulations and company procedure.
+ Reviews export and import licenses and permits obtained from the Departments of State and Commerce and tests for compliance with regulations and company procedure.
+ Reviews documentation related to Customs and ATF requirements and AES filings with Census Bureau and tests for compliance with regulations and company procedure.
+ Reviews export jurisdiction and classification findings and the certification and use of license exemptions and exceptions for a business group and tests against regulations and company procedure.
+ Reviews compliance with record keeping and data management requirements against regulations and company procedure.
+ Reviews compliance with document review processes, public release, review of international purchase orders and hardware shipments, foreign visits, and international travel requests for a business group against regulations and company procedure.
+ Conducts interviews to test information found during document review. Analyzes the review and develops findings, drafts written summaries, researches regulations, and prepares audit report drafts.
+ Conducts internal investigations and prepares draft disclosures, including analysis of issues and development of findings, conducts interviews, develops written summaries, researches regulations, prepares draft correspondence to USG and Sectors.
+ Conducts assigned compliance tasks, data calls, reporting requirements, record keeping and file management, working groups, continuous improvement projects, process and procedure development, and training.
+ Acts as an empowered official and is an expert in compliance with US export and import laws including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
+ Additional duties as assigned.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor s Degree and 10 years of experience in export controls, Master s Degree and 6 years of experience in export controls, Juris Doctor and 4 years of experience in export controls
+ Team player, proactive, self-motivated, highly organized, ability to handle shifting priorities and to communicate effectively and professionally (both orally and in writing) with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization
+ Make decisions using sound judgement while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
+ Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and procedures within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule
+ Exercise discretion and independent judgement in the performance of duties and tasks assigned under delegation
+ Working effectively in a heavily matrixed environment
+ Accept additional duties as assigned
+ Able to travel 30-50% of the time
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Experience in audits and investigations
+ Experience working as an Empowered Official
+ Experience working in OCR EMS export management software
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $132000 - $224400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
