What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Functions Finance - GRM provides financial and strategic advice and analysis to the Group Risk Managements’ Senior Leadership to improve financial performance and the quality of business decisions for operating costs.
This role will act as a key leader in driving change and improvements within the group, including assisting in the evolution of the functions shared service model including implementing best practices; while working with GRM executives to enable transparency of cost allocations to businesses by supporting development of allocation methodologies, performing impact analysis of allocation rate changes.
What you will do?
Responsible for coordinating planning, forecasting, and management reporting for Senior Executives. Provides proactive advice to executives/senior management on business performance, cost trends, early warnings and savings opportunities. Lead monthly estimate by proactively monitoring, analyzing and reporting on financial trends relative to business volumes / drivers as well as external factors.Ensure the integrity, accuracy, completeness of financial information.Responsible for supporting the business in providing advice on the allocation of costs to the various business platforms and for proactively leading, maintaining and supporting the cost allocation framework.Work in a collaborative environment with finance colleagues to foster a more complete end to end understanding of the functions allocated costsProactively support the finance and business transformations.Actively look for streamlining opportunities and low value activities that can be discontinuedWhat you need to succeed?
Must Have
CA, CMA, CGA, MBA, CFA or equivalent with 5+ years work experience gained through a varied working career including positions in numerous facets of RBC or another financial institution.Excellent communication skills, both oral & written, with good interpersonal skills in order to establish relationships across all levels of the enterprise.Experience in financial reporting & analysis and cost management.Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPointExperience with unique financial systems such as EPM (Cognos TM1).Solid business acumen and problem-solving skills.Ability to work well under pressure and in a team setting.Curious and proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvementComfortable dealing with incomplete information, uncertainty, and changeNice to Have
Knowledge and understanding of banking products and processes.Job Skills
