Senior Manager, Facilities Planning and Optimization - GSC - US
**JOB SUMMARY** The Sr Manager, Facilities Planning and Optimization will lead the team of analysts and project managers responsible for planning new facilities and configuring existing facilities to increase capacity, improve productivity, reduce costs, and maximize throughput. This role manages the design, procurement and installation process of rack and material handling structures at all Sysco locations. As such, this role provides key inputs to the overall enterprise capital planning process. The Sr Manager will be responsible for developing the data resources and tools necessary to accurately model capacity with the physical parameters of the products and facilities as well as worker productivity for distribution operations. He or she will also be responsible for evaluating, justifying, and managing projects related to automation technology for material handling processes. He or she will be responsible for leading the direction and strategy across the network in facilities planning, slotting optimization and automation for USBL, CABL and Specialty businesses. Additionally, the individual will liaise with International Supply Chain in Facilities Planning related subjects. **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Continuously develop and enhance Sysco’s abilities to measure physical capacity at existing sites through capacity modeling tools, systems queries, dashboards, data collection activities and interviews. + Collaborate with businesses and GSC functions to gather future growth projections, item assortment and customer changes to quantify future capacity needs for Sysco + Directly support network optimization initiatives/capital projects and develop specific facility solutions for new and existing sites + Oversee rack planning, procurement and installation projects and act as a facilities subject matter expert on all facilities and warehouse automation projects. **Education Required:** + Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research or an equivalent combination of education and experience. **Education Preferred:** MBA preferred **Experience Required:** Position requires a minimum of 5 years experience working in a related distribution center/warehouse design field performing analysis and project management activities. **Experience Preferred:** Facility Design/Engineering **Licenses/Certification Required:** The Sr Manager must be technically proficient in the use of the software applications and tools needed to perform the duties of the job in particular: Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and CAD. **Licenses/Certification Preferred:** The Sr Manager ideally will be technically proficient in advanced software applications Optricity, SQL, Tableau or equivalent slotting/design analytics tools. **Technical Skills & Abilities:** + Must have good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. + Excellent analytical skills to evaluate statistical data and develop solutions to technical and financial problems. + Must be self-motivated and be willing to overcome obstacles to achieve objectives and complete projects in a timely manner. + Must be well organized and be able to set priorities and manage time accordingly. + Must be able to staff, train, and lead a team of professionals to achieve departmental goals and objectives. + Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. + Consistently embraces changes, leads efforts to role model change and its benefits. + Plans, creates breakthrough strategies, and plans ahead clearly. + Ability to optimize work group. + Ability to drive results. + Drives development culture. + Skilled at coaching. **Physical Demands:** Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job. When working outside the office in a distribution center and production facility, the employee may be working in refrigerated facilities where the temperature can be as low as -10F and in ambient storage facilities where the temperature can be as high as 95F. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate for inside the office, while working outside of office in a distribution or production facility, the employee could experience certain noise levels from refrigeration equipment and material handling equipment.
