What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Senior Director, Distribution Strategy, the Senior Manager, Distribution Strategy will support the development of the strategic roadmap for the Personal Banking and Imperial Service businesses as well as play a key role in special initiatives and pilots to ensure strategic alignment and prioritization. The Senior Manager, will be responsible to help senior management to investigate, analyze, and execute short-term strategic initiatives and long-term strategic plans focused on accelerating the growth of our business. You will support our strategic planning across the lines of business within Personal Banking and Imperial Service (PB&IS) and play a key role in helping the leadership team set in place a strategic agenda and an integrated plan. The Senior Manager will also contribute to the development and execution of our omni-channel distribution strategy, which encompasses our banking centres, frontline roles, technology, tools and platforms to support the delivery of key capabilities in support of PB&IS’s strategy.

How You’ll Succeed

Strategy design and development – Support the development of long term omni-channel strategies. Draw on market research to bring forward trends and industry best practices to develop recommendations. Synthesize business objectives and current operating model strengths and weaknesses to drive change.

Strategic problem solving – Frame complex problems to be addressed, identify and execute required analysis with analytics partners, and synthesize key findings to help the teams reach decisions. Perform deep dives of Banking Centre Strategy and map the value chain and opportunities in a story telling approach.

Presentation and analysis – Develop and prepare executive presentation materials, performance and metric materials and ad-hoc requests including leading and developing strategic and financial analysis, insights and recommendations, and collaborating with key stakeholders, including Analytics and Finance partners.

Consulting – Foster collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and peers. Provide value-added advisory support on strategic direction and best practices.  Participate and support in-flight projects to ensure that the strategic vision and benefits are realized.  Stay connected with the client journey and engage with our frontline partners regularly to understand the current strengths and challenges

Who You Are

You have a degree in Business or Finance/Economics.

You can demonstrate highly developed knowledge of strategic planning principles sufficient to identify and develop initiatives. You have a strong understanding of Personal & Business Banking and enhanced technical knowledge in order to deal with complex problems independently.

You can demonstrate 3 to 5 years of work experience in analytics and working with large, complex data sets to link data to the financials to make business decisions and assess how to leverage it to make strategic decisions.

You have strong analytical and financial acumen with developed knowledge in several areas of industry/client/regulatory activity sufficient to interpret, analyze and apply relevant issues and developments.

You have strong technical skills. You can demonstrate financial modeling skills in working with large datasets and ability to synthesize complex problems and solutions to “easy to understand” concepts.

You are a problem solver.  You have creative problem solving skills sufficient to resolve or identify innovative alternatives or opportunities where established procedures for problems sometimes do not exist.

You deliver with urgency. You have the ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities.  Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation

You are detail oriented. You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.

Your influence makes an impact. You know that relationships and networks are essential to success. You have well-developed presentation skills, highly-developed writing skills, and influential skills sufficient to accomplish "significant" promotion & negotiation on CIBC’s behalf and to convince others of the value of preferred options or alternatives in situations where distinct differences of opinion or approach exist.
