This role connects strategy with operational delivery, ensuring high-value data from protocol design through trial disclosure is reusable across multiple programs and therapeutic areas. Working cross-functionally across R&D, you’ll embed FAIR data principles, semantic consistency, and governance best practices — integrating diverse data sources into an enterprise data ecosystem aligned with industry standards. **Key Responsibilities:** **Data Strategy & Roadmap** + Shape and deliver the Global Development data strategy aligned with enterprise R&D priorities. + Partner with Global Functions DSDH and clinical teams, to identify data needs and opportunities. Collaborate and optimize in partnership with stakeholders outside R&D. Lead sourcing, evaluation, onboarding of external data sources. + Build and maintain a multi-year data strategy roadmap. + Embed product thinking, FAIR principles, and agile delivery into execution to ensure scalability and reusability. **Ontology & Standards Alignment** + Ensure Global Development data assets adhere to internal and external standards. + Align with industry frameworks (TransCelerate DDF, Pistoia ClinOps-O, CDISC, HL7 FHIR) and internal metadata standards. + Partner with Knowledge Management teams to connect strategy deliverables to the enterprise knowledge graph, enabling advanced search, reasoning, and automation. **Internal & External Data Integration** + Source, evaluate, and integrate operational, regulatory, and scientific datasets from internal teams, CROs, regulators, and trusted external partners. + Oversee end-to-end lifecycle management for high-value Global Development data assets — ensuring quality, accessibility, compliance, and interoperability. **Value Realization & KPIs** + Define and monitor measurable KPIs such as: + Acceleration of study startup timelines + Improvement in submission readiness scores + Increase in data reuse and interoperability across programs + Report on strategic impact and adoption progress to business and technical stakeholders. **Stakeholder Engagement & Adoption** + Act as a champion for Global Development data strategy across clinical, regulatory, data science, QA, medical writing, safety, and IT teams. + Lead adoption activities such as workshops, demos, onboarding sessions, and change management plans. + Capture user feedback and continuously refine the roadmap based on evolving business needs. **Qualifications** **Education** + Master’s or PhD in a relevant field (Life Sciences, Data Science, Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, etc.) or equivalent experience. + 6+ years in pharma/biotech R&D, focused on clinical development, data strategy, and governance. + Proven success delivering data initiatives in a regulated environment across multiple therapeutic areas. + Familiarity with ontologies, semantic modeling, metadata governance, and industry standards. **Skills & Expertise** + Strong knowledge of the clinical trial lifecycle and regulatory data requirements. + Experience in data management, integration, and FAIR principle implementation. + Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and communicate complex data concepts clearly. + Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable strategy. + Proven track record of leading cross-functional data initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders. **Impact** By embedding semantic rigor, governance discipline, and interoperability standards, you will transform how Global Development data is captured, structured, and reused — accelerating timelines, enabling advanced analytics, and strengthening regulatory readiness for all programs.
