About the role:  

CHANEL is looking for a Senior Manager, Data Quality & Growth, to join our corporate Data team on the broader Digital and Client Experience organization in New York City. The ideal candidate will play a leading role in guardianship of our client database health for the whole CHANEL US organization. This Data Quality & Growth role interfaces with all our luxury retail divisions and is a key partner to represent the business teams with CHANEL Tech.  

 

Our ideal Senior Manager, Data Quality & Growth candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in data management, data stewardship and CRM Systems and a passion for data integrity, details, investigations & collaboration.  Exceptional communication, relationship building and project management skills needed to partner with stakeholder groups, analysts, tech teams, etc.  

 

CDMP, CDS, DGSP or similar Data Certifications highly desired, Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant certification a plus. Looker, Big Query and Power BI experience required.  This position is based in New York City.

 

What impact you can create at CHANEL:   

Define, align and implement the Data Quality framework:

Define a data quality framework (KPIs, threshold, naming nomenclature, etc...)  

Be accountable and responsible for all data quality projects on the business side for the 3 divisions (Fragrance and Beauty, Fashion, Watches & Fine Jewelry)  

Benchmark our data quality towards industry to ensure CHANEL data integrity leads in the luxury retail industry 

Propose optimization of data flows to drive efficiencies 

Find new ways of working to maximize our data usage 

 

Responsible for our database growth (number of records and enrichment): 

Develop our data capture strategy 

Propose touchpoints optimization to maximize client and prospects registrations 

 

Constant and proactive monitoring of the database to keep it healthy:

Proactively detect quality gaps to mitigate any business risks through new automated reporting in partnership with Tech team for notification of quality issues as early as possible  

Perform comprehensive Data Validation on all incremental data sets 

Operate data stewardship activities for sensitive client profiles in the US with the right level of coordination with other regions on international clients 

 

Partnership & Collaboration with Tech:

Manage and resolve all data quality issues to ensure accuracy and usability 

Proactively provide any potential workaround to help the divisions achieve their goals 

Ensure CHANEL has the best-in-class client datasets to enable data analysts to drive strategic insights 

Project manage end-to-end quality issues from early identification to Q&A and resolution 

Excel in project management from planning to communication 

 

Communication:

Coordinate with all data analyst teams and provide regular communication updates to all levels of the organization around issue resolutions with a true business lens 

Strong presentation and facilitation skills required

What you will bring to the team:  

Minimum of 7 years proven experience leading Data Quality; data stewardship, data custodian, data engineering in the Digital CX landscape etc.  

Proven experience leading data stewardship in CRM/ CDP Systems; Salesforce Data Cloud expertise required 

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Advertising Studio & Oracle Responsys activations 

Subject matter expertise with Data Analytics using: Big Query, Looker and Power BI  

Ability to contribute and Project Manage data integrity projects for end-to-end delivery with minimal guidance.  

Strong ability and drive to influence the business on best practices and solutions 

Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders 

Experience and/or passion for the Luxury Retail Industry 

 

Position Logistics: 

Role is based on-site/hybrid in New York City.  3 days onsite required. Location in Midtown, Manhattan.  

Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Quality and CRM Systems 

Data engineering or data management background 

CDMP, CDS, DGSP or similar Data Certifications highly desired 

Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant certification a plus 

This is an Individual Contributor (IC) position 

Bachelor’s Degree or higher or equivalent experience 

Experience and/or passion for the Luxury Retail Industry

Compensation:  

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $87,500- $160,000.  Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
