Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced and exceptionally skilled Senior Manager to expertly lead our Credit and Collections team. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for strategically managing credit risk, net bad debt financials and forecasting while building a roadmap for enabling improved collections. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, exhibit strong financial acumen, possess deep knowledge of credit and collections best practices, and exhibit a proven track record of achieving results.
Key Responsibilities Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to the Credit and Collections team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Develop and implement credit policies and procedures that effectively manage credit risk while supporting business growth objectives. Oversee monthly financials and yearly budget planning, ensuring strong accuracy and performance tracking vs. targets. Analyze credit data and financial statements to assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers, establishing appropriate credit limits and payment terms. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to credit and collections, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions as needed. Manage and resolve complex credit and collection issues, working closely with internal stakeholders such as sales, customer service, and legal.. Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the credit and collections functions. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on credit and collections performance, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement. Researching and implementing AI use cases to improve net bad debt and collections. Critical Qualifications A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a closely related field of study is absolutely essential. Experience working in credit strategy or credit focused initiatives either internally for a large organization or as a consultative expert is strongly preferred. Demonstrated deep knowledge of financial modelling and analysis is a must. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team is highly required. Proficiency in using credit and collections software systems and tools, such as Experian, Equifax, TransUnion, or similar platforms is an asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound judgments is greatly valued. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, internal stakeholders, and senior management is greatly appreciated.
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
