About the Walmart US Store Operations and Capital Team

The Store Operations and Capital team is at the core of Walmart’s transformation, uniting business, technology, and finance to deliver best-in-class shopping experiences. We manage the full asset lifecycle for Walmart US stores, overseeing everything from new store builds and remodels to special capital initiatives, monthly accounting, and reporting. Our team operates in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, collaborating with Real-Estate, Operations, Enterprise Business Services, and Technology to support the company’s aggressive growth strategies. As a Senior Manager, Controllership, your work will directly influence our ability to scale, innovate, and lead within the retail industry, while ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

Build and nurture collaborative relationships with business partners across Real-Estate, Operations, Finance, Enterprise Business Services, Technology, and Controllership teams to drive alignment and project success.Monitor, evaluate, and enhance financial processes and workflows, ensuring all activities adhere to US GAAP and robust internal controls.Lead and support financial accounting operations, including monthly close activities, account reconciliations, audit readiness, and internal controls processes.Represent the controllership function on cross-functional projects, providing in-depth financial analysis, reviewing business impacts, and establishing strong governance for capital initiatives.Conduct and lead regular meetings with diverse stakeholders, communicate complex accounting topics to all levels, and champion operational excellence and continuous improvement in every project.

What You’ll Bring:

Deep expertise in construction and/or real-estate capital accounting, with a proven track record of managing large-scale asset portfolios.Advanced experience with SAP Project Systems or other real-estate investment management platforms, leveraging technology to streamline and automate accounting operations.Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and compliance requirements, with demonstrated ability to influence, drive accountability, and resolve issues across teams outside your direct authority.Initiative-driven mindset; excels in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and adapts quickly to changing business needs.Outstanding organizational skills, ambitious standards for quality, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines simultaneously, all while promoting a culture of operational and business excellence.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...
