**Job Summary**
This position serves as our company’s strategic architect and executive representative within China’s lift code, standards, and market supervision ecosystem. Its core mission is to: deeply engage in setting industry code agendas, lead thought leadership across the sector, and—through forward-looking policy insights and cross-industry influence—translate code trends into the company’s sustainable competitive advantages, accelerate the scaled application of digital and green technologies, and reinforce our reputation as an industry benchmark for “dual excellence in safety and innovation.” Internally, it collaborates with the Executive Committee to embed code strategy into business planning and fosters cross-functional networks to enhance the company’s code stewardship capabilities.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ **Code & Standards Strategy Foresight & Agenda Shaping**
+ Lead development and execution of the code strategy roadmap; proactively identify 3–5-year regulatory trends in lifts and translate them into actionable business and technology paths.
+ Lead strategic positioning in next-generation frameworks (intrinsic safety, cyber, AI, green, circular economy); drive white papers, proposals, and draft standards to help shape the industry agenda.
+ **Industry Influence & Ecosystem Leadership**
+ Be qualified for leadership roles on National Elevator Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 196) and China Elevator Association Standards Committee (CEA Standards Committee); lead industry code and standards technical development.
+ Align China’s codes and standards with ISO/EN; bridge SAC/TC 196, CEN/TC 10, and ISO/TC 178, positioning the company as an active global-local rule integrator.
+ Enhance the company’s public reputation through keynote speeches, technical forums, and engagement with regulators.
+ **Internal Leadership & Cross-Functional Integration**
+ Chair daily operations of the Code Strategy Committee, ensuring early alignment among R&D, Product, Legal, and other functions, swift impact assessment, and unified company positions.
+ Promote a culture of “smart regulation driving innovation”: turn compliance into a differentiated competitive edge and align product roadmaps with regulatory roadmaps.
+ Build a pipeline of code and standards talent; define competency models and career paths; boost organizational agility via practice communities.
+ **Code & Standards Development & Advocacy**
+ Lead company participation in national and local regulations, safety technical codes, national standards, and other key lift-related standards projects.
+ Advocate innovation-friendly regulatory frameworks to accelerate market uptake of digital technology, IoT, AI-assisted safety solutions, and modernization offerings.
+ **Global-Local Linkage Management**
+ Implement global code and standards strategy; provide timely communication with WHO on China-specific requirements; and embed China needs into global product architecture decisions.
+ Collaborate closely with international bodies such as ELA, CEN/TC 10, and ISO/TC 178 via CEA and SAC/TC 196, ensuring China’s code evolution benefits from and contributes to global standardization.
**Qualifications**
**Education**
+ Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical, electrical, automation, or related field; MBA or advanced engineering management degree preferred.
**Work Experience**
+ Minimum 15 years of experience in the elevator industry, including at least 5 years in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or R&D strategy management.
+ Experience holding key roles in national technical committees or industry associations and leading the drafting of national standards; prior experience in ISO/CEN collaboration preferred.
**Knowledge and Skills**
+ Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator product technology and compliance requirements across the full product lifecycle (from new product creation to product retirement).
+ Strategic business acumen: ability to assess the impact of codes and standards across cost, speed, brand equity, and global platforms.
+ Excellent stakeholder communication and influencing skills; able to engage effectively with regulators, technical experts, and senior executives.
+ Excellent bilingual proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese; capable of delivering high-level bilingual presentations and conducting technical negotiations.
**Competencies and Traits**
+ Visionary strategic thinker who can transform vague policy signals into clear business strategies.
