(Senior) Manager, China Policy & Public Affairs, Central

Position Summary

This position is responsible for Pfizer’s in-market engagement with central & Beijing government to shape operating environment, foster collaborations to advance strategic business objectives, and enhance company reputation. The role also involves building and maintaining effective relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure that government engagement makes measurable impact in advancing business objectives.

 

Responsibilities

Contribute to the development and implementation of Pfizer’s strategy in Beijing.

Increase reputation among central and Beijing government stakeholders through effective stakeholder engagement and relationship management.

Advocate for a favorable operating environment for the pharmaceutical industry and, as appropriate, access to Pfizer’s medicines and vaccines.

Act as the main point of contact for relevant government agencies and provide the business with regular updates on their work priorities and development trends.

Work with trade associations to support advocacy efforts, as directed.

Implement projects, as directed, to support advocacy efforts.

Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, including with R&D, Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory and fellow International Policy & Communication colleagues to enable a unified and seamless Pfizer presence and ensure ONE Pfizer policy positions for engagement with Chinese authorities.

Prepare executive briefings, as directed.

Help to build a team culture that reflects Pfizer’s values: courage, equity, excellence, and joy.

 

Qualifications

Holds a bachelor’s degree (or above) in medicine, pharmacy, public health, public administration, public policy, law, economics, or another relevant field.

Has 5+ years of experience working in the healthcare or other highly regulated industry. Experience working in a multinational company or a public agency is preferable.

Understands the healthcare environment, government agencies, networks and policy-making processes, those related to the pharmaceutical industry a plus.

Can establish and maintain effective partnerships with government and other key stakeholders.

Has effective advocacy and communication skills. Fluent in Mandarin and English.

Results-orientated. Has good problem-solving and project management skills.
