What You'll Be Doing

As a leader of CIBC’s Platform Automation Team within Infrastructure Engineering, you will be helping transform the way we deliver Infrastructure Products.  You will be leading a team of individuals that are passionate about innovation and solving business problems by using automation. You will collaborate with other Product Owners to understand product specific priorities and execute on plans.  You will develop and drive continuous integration to achieve delivery strategies and work with the Automation Integration team in support of DevOps automation framework and environments.  You will help the Automation Integration Engineering Team team provide leadership in standards and best practices to other Technology teams during design, build, configuration, testing, implementation and maintenance phases of initiatives/projects involving automation. You will be reporting to the Director of Automation & Infrastructure Engineering within Cloud Engineering and Transformation (CE&T) and and joining CIBC’s Technology Operations group which delivers world class solutions in support of business strategies, through a combination of in-house systems development and working with leading technology partners.

How You’ll Succeed

Leadership & Communication – Collaborate with senior leaders across the company and make informed recommendations to enhance automation related solutions. Weigh business needs against technology offerings, security concerns and provide recommendations to improve automation, which are practical and achievable.

Governance – Proactively contribute to governance initiatives in the development of company policies, audit requirements etc. Provide technical or business guidance to clients within and outside your own department.

Engineering – Lead the Automation Integration Team in evaluation, selection, design and implementation of new and emerging automation and DevOps products and techniques; support the development of business/technology proposals by estimating implementation costs and evaluating options; provide comprehensive senior level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams;

Automation – Work with the CIBC Automation teams t create test automation frameworks with continuous integration and continuous deployment to production. Engage resources within CIBC or CIBC partners to understand manual tasks to translate and break down into smaller work packages to be addressed during SCRUM sprints.

Who You Are

You can demonstrate experience with automation tools and automating processes/tasks; Red Hat Ansible Tower, or plain Ansible are preferred. An asset if you have Azure or other Cloud experience, along with OS Cluster tools (Infoscale, Red Hat Cluster, etc). You have strong knowledge of:  IT Standards, Policies and Procedures and have the ability to use and administer the organization's technology practices, standards and procedures appropriately to diverse situations.
