Our Organization and Mission:
The Division of Service Operations manages the Central Intake and Licensure unit, the one-stop shop for intake of applications and payments. The Division also oversees the Customer Contact Center (CCC), which handles all initial interaction conducted via telephone and e-mail.
The Work You Will Do:
This is a management position in the Bureau of Central Intake and Licensure’s Intake Services Section. The incumbent in this position has direct decision making and program management responsibilities of major operations affecting the performance of the Bureau including the Mail Intake and Scanning, Revenue, and Customer Service Window units. The work requires making independent decisions and developing effective solutions by operating within established policies, laws, rules, and/or guidelines.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent in this position performs the following work and other related activities:
+ Manage the Bureau of Central Intake and Licensure’s Intake Services Section. Performs administrative duties relating to task assignment, personnel and all managerial decisions, relating to the areas under this position’s managerial authority. Includes hiring, employee termination, leave and attendance approval, discipline, and performance review activities. Assigns, reviews and coordinates office operations related to all operational areas under this position’s managerial authority.
+ Represents DBPR in interactions with the public and other agencies and will act as a liaison between the Intake Services Section and Boards, Bureaus, and Divisions within DBPR.
+ Consults with the Bureau Chief of Central Intake concerning information and recommendations on budget issues pertaining to all operational areas under this position’s managerial authority.
+ Assists the Bureau Chief in monitoring legislative proposals and bill analysis and makes recommendations for statute or rule changes when appropriate. Manages the development of new and existing programs in the Bureau and suggests improvements. Analyzes and coordinates a process that ensures efficient processing of applications for the agency within the statutory guidelines.
+ Using information gathered from the quality assurance review to assist supervisors in developing training catalogs and implementing motivational training to improve the quality and quantity of work performed by staff.
+ Acts as a consultant to auditors for the Bureau Chief on issues concerning all operational areas under the position’s managerial authority.
+ Coordinates with Bureau management regarding the development of performance standards and evaluations of work processes to meet long-range planning goals.
+ Conduct special projects and monitor the development of fiscal and statistical reports.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
+ Ability to communicate effectively.
+ Knowledge of Florida Statutes, board and department rules governing licensure and regulation, and consumer protection.
+ Knowledge of the techniques for handling complaints and dealing with the public.
+ Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, policies and procedures regarding licensure and regulation of professionals and consumer protection.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Must one (1) year experience orat least three (3) years of management experience; including decision making and/or program management responsibilities;and
+ Must have one (1) year of experience interpreting, administering, and/or communicating policies and procedures.

+ Experience in relaying and communicating information to the public verbally.
+ Excellent time management skills.
+ Ability to pay close attention to detail and prioritize tasks efficiently.
+ Ability to resolve conflicts in a timely and efficient manner.
