Reporting to the Superintendent – FP&A, the Senior Management Accountant will assist in ensuring that the organisations accounting policies, procedures and standards are implemented effectively and, in a manner. To provide support and expertise to all departments in budgeting, forecasting and LOM process. Work to continually improve the cost tracking and business efficiencies through effective budget management and monitoring.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Preparation and presentation of monthly cost reports on all aspects of the organization’s financial performance to site Management and Corporate office.
Analyzing data from costs reports to assure management that costs are being effectively monitored and remedial action is being taken to correct unfavorable variances.
Processing of month end accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
Management of the capital expenditure process from AFE completion through to finalization of the capital project, ensuring AFE expenditure is in line with budget in terms of overall spend and timing, and that LMC capital expenditure policies are complied with:
Assist the Superintendent- FP&A in ensuring Fixed Asset register is accurate.
Assist the Superintendent- FP&A in ensuring Supporting the development, implementation and continual audit of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company requirements for;Accounting Records and standards
Taxation
Asset protection and internal financial controls.
Continually monitor costs whilst proactively identifying and implementing cost effective initiatives to optimize procurement and other expenditure within the company.To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate
Degree in Accounting or Professional Qualification such as ACCA / CIMA.
Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Significant experience (8 years) post graduate experience with preferably 5 years in mining in a senior commercial/ accounting role.
Sound understanding and experience of the principles and practice in accounting and contracts
