Job Purpose/Summary:
The Senior Management Accountant plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and accuracy of financial reporting within the Smurfit Westrock business. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior role in a fast-paced and evolving environment, driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making.
Job Responsibilities/Key accountabilities:
Prepare and review monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies.Maintain and enhance corporate financial systems, including Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), ensuring optimal functionality and data integrity.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, financial controls, and internal audit requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and reporting mechanisms.
Financial planning and analysis, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, collaborating with key stakeholders to align financial projections with strategic goals.
Working with Corporate Finance Teams to align reporting processes and meeting Corporate Deadlines.
Liaise with the Shared Service Centre for effective management of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
Potential future opportunity to expand involvement across multiple business sites, supporting financial operations and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent).At least 3 years’ experience. Strong experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and annual budgeting. Ability to meet strict corporate reporting deadlines while maintaining accuracy.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across all business departments.High level of proficiency in Excel skills with expertise in data analysis and reporting.
