Position Summary

The Senior Maintenance Technician - E&I is a highly skilled professional responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical, instrumentation, and control systems within the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role is critical for supporting both production and critical utility operations by executing preventative maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and calibration activities on industrial controls, low/medium voltage power distribution, Building Automation Management Systems (BAMS), and Process Control Systems (PCS). A strong focus on cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) documentation and compliance is essential.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesElectrical Systems & TroubleshootingDiagnose, repair, and maintain low (up to 480V) and medium voltage (up to 15kV) electrical distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), and associated switchgearTroubleshoot and repair electrical components of HVAC, utility equipment (e.g., chillers, boilers, air compressors), and manufacturing process equipmentExecute electrical installations, modifications, and upgrades in strict adherence to NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E safety standardsInstrumentation Maintenance and RepairPerform routine maintenance and repair of critical process and utility instrumentation, including but not limited to pressure, temperature, flow and levelUtilize calibration standards and test equipment (e.g., decade boxes, field calibrators, loop calibrators) for reference, to ensure instrumentation accuracy and reliabilityMaintain accurate and compliant calibration records for audit readiness by licensing authoritiesControls & Automation Systems (BAMS/PCS)Provide advanced troubleshooting support for the Building Automation Management System (BAMS) controllers, network devices, and user interface softwareWork with Process Control Systems (PCS) like PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces) to diagnose control loop issues and sensor failuresInterpret and modify control logic, ladder diagrams, and functional specifications to resolve system faults and optimize control sequences for utility and HVAC systems in accordance with established risk assessment and change control proceduresDocumentation, Safety & ComplianceAccurately complete all work orders and maintenance logs in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)Strictly adhere to all cGMP, SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), and site safety protocols, including, but not limited to, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash proceduresAssist in generating and reviewing technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and change control documentsQualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAssociate's Degree or Vocational/Technical training in Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, or Industrial Controls highly preferredCertifications/LicensesRequired: State Journeyman Electrician LicensePreferred: ISA CCST (Certified Control System Technician) Level I or higher, or equivalent industry certificationExperience10+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, specifically focusing on electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls in a highly regulated environmentMinimum 5 years of experience in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is mandatory, with a proven track record of working under cGMP and regulatory scrutiny (e.g., FDA, EMA)Required SkillsExpert knowledge of low-voltage industrial electrical systems and motor controlsAdvanced proficiency in troubleshooting BAMS (e.g., Siemens Apogee/Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys) and/or industrial PLC/DCS platformsExceptional ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and loop diagramsStrong understanding of metrology principles and practical field calibration techniquesExcellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environmentPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions (e.g., mechanical rooms, clean rooms)Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and kneel for extended periodsWorking ConditionsFull-time positionRequires participation in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 emergency support for critical systems
