Job Title: Senior Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in the assigned facility. This role focuses on maximizing the lifespan and reliability of these systems, often without a Chief Engineer on-site, and may involve supervising maintenance staff depending on the size and complexity of the facility.

Responsibilities

Assist with or conduct daily operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.Supervise maintenance staff, assign tasks, and monitor activities and projects.Perform preventive maintenance, including changing filters, lubricating motors, replacing lamps, ballasts, and fixtures, and aligning shafts.Recommend improvements to the preventive maintenance program.Develop and maintain effective building-specific maintenance procedures.Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians.Maintain stock and inventory control.Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns.Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and directives, practicing safe work habits.Compile and submit monthly reports to inform management of current building operations.Complete all required Safety Training annually.Comply with Uniform Dress Code and maintain a neat appearance.

Essential Skills

Universal CFC certificationTroubleshooting expertiseKnowledge of HVAC systemsExperience as a maintenance mechanic or building engineerProficiency in repairs, chiller, emergency generator, water heaters, and heat pumpsMechanical aptitude and preventative maintenance skillsCustomer service skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with heat pumps, cooling towers, heating towers, chillers, emergency generators, and water heatersHands-on experience in refrigeration, SCU, compressor replacement, and pumpsExperience with Siemens systemsExperience with on-site Chillers - R410A - 150 tonsExperience repairing heat pumps located inside and outside the building

Work Environment

This is a temporary 6-week contract with a Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM shift. If the technician performs well in the position, there is a potential to be moved into a permanent role at another site.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
