Job Description:
The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily activities to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment at the Mahwah manufacturing plant, by diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and documenting work performed, all while maintaining compliance with SOP, FDA, and ISO standards. The senior technician plays a key part in minimizing downtime and supporting manufacturing continuity.
Responsibilities:
Perform geometry adjustment on 5 axais CNC machinesPerform precise geometry adjustments on 5-axis CNC machines to maintain production accuracyTroubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical malfunctionsConduct timely repairs of machinery components including mechanical systems and hydraulic hosesRespond to emergency maintenance needs during manufacturing processes to ensure minimal disruptionValidate and test new equipment in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), FDA, and ISO standardsAccurately document maintenance activities, incidents, and equipment performance variancesImplement preventive maintenance strategies to reduce equipment downtimeWork flexible hours including 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekends, and extended periods as requiredServe as informal resource to technicians with less experience, sharing knowledge and best practicesEffectively communicate to share critical information across team and shiftsJob Requirements:
Critical Knowledge and Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in lieu of education requiredCollege or trade school degree in engineering mechanics or electronics, preferredKnowledge of CNC equipment controlled by FANUC, Heidenhain and Siemen's controls is a plusWorking knowledge of standard maintenance tracking software (e-maint)Team player and reliableCritical Skills/technical know-how: (what the role holder must be able to do)
Ability to read schematics including electrical diagrams, pneumatic diagrams and hydraulic diagramsAbility to troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic system problemsAbility to diagnose faulty sensors, relays, motor starters, breakers, etc. and replace when neededAbility able to initiate a plan of action and make decisions independentlyAbility to complete work with a limited degree of supervisionFlexibility to work overtime in response to business needsAbility to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)Confidence in working with latest, state-of-the-art technologyIntermediate to advanced Computer skills (MS Office)Proficient in English (reading, writing, spoken)Strong communication skills (verbal and written)Critical Experience:
