We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. **What You Will Do:** **East Hartford Repair Operations** is looking for a hardworking and high-energy Facilities and Service Engineering Manager at our East Hartford, CT overhaul facility. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of salaried personnel, skilled trades and outside contractors to construct, maintain, and repair equipment in the manufacturing shop. **Key Responsibilities:** + Analyze machinery casualties/failure analysis to determine proper repair procedures and equipment upgrades. + Lead implementation of mistake proofing changes to maintain/increase up-time in the facility. + Review, revise, and, where necessary, draft all preventative maintenance procedures. + Initiate maintenance contracts as required to ensure all machinery is operating at optimum performance. + Partner with environmental health and safety department to correct and mitigate EH&S concerning machinery repairs. + Set day-to-day goals and objectives for hourly and salary team members; oversee planning, organizing, and scheduling maintenance for the shop. + Ensure proper functioning of machines through ongoing inspection. + Assess and evaluate the physical space requirements of the organization and recommend plans to meet needs. + Craft work schedules to assure EHRO MTS plan is integrated with internal and external facility services providers. + Coordinate Manufacturing Cell transformations by moving existing equipment and installing newly acquired capital equipment. + Coordinate and manage all contactor efforts on site, from procurement of services to creating pre-job reports and ensuring clear communication. + Use SAP to create Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to generate purchase order to ensure contractor has valid method of payment prior to starting contract work. + Craft the work schedules and initiate purchase orders for the rearrangement of machinery to reorganize the EHRO shop. + Drive capital projects; responsible for timely installation and run off of new machine tools and ultimately enabling return on invested capital. + For new equipment and process changes, ensure all safety and environmental procedural requirements are met through the Pratt and Whitney Management of Change procedure. + Work with East Hartford site Facilities Team to ensure the buildings’ infrastructure (HVAC, steam, chill water etc.) are functioning, maintained and meet the needs of the business. + Create statements of work for contractors to perform construction, equipment installations and maintenance projects. **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Advanced Degree and 7+ years of experience in Facilities Maintenance, Machine Tool Service, Engineering, Manufacturing or general Aerospace Aftermarket industry experience; **OR** Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience; **OR** Associate’s Degree (or equivalent 2-year Technical Training or Certifications) and 12+ years of relevant industry experience; **OR** High School Diploma and 14+ years of relevant industry experience. + 1+ year of Personnel Management or general supervisory experience required. **Qualifications We Prefer:** + Bachelor’s degree STEM fields preferred. + Management experience within a bargaining unit / union workforce environment. + Machine Tool service, troubleshooting and maintenance experience. + Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain machine tools. + Project management experience and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. + Commercial construction experience preferred + Experience with problem-solving tools such as root cause and corrective action (RCCA). + Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma). + Experience using Microsoft Office, Solumina, SAP, or similar MRP/ERP systems. + Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers. **What is my Role Type?** In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
