The Role

As a Zseries storage Engineer at Kyndryl, you will be responsible for leading, building and supporting the zSeries Storage hardware and software infrastructure.You’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a zSeries sotrage Engineer at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

This role will carry out some or all of the following activities

Perform a Technical Project Management role for large zSeries infrastructure deployment and evergreening projectsSetup automation to reduce manaual interventions in the Storage infrastructureTest new software and exploit functionalityConsolidate and reduce infrastructure complexityRisk and Cost ManagementEnsure Service Quality Targets are met for offered platform servicesBusiness stakeholder managementVendor liason and managementzSeries Storage hardware / software design, configuration, testing, implementation and support

Personal Experience

zSeries Storage Management / Engineering background preferred and / or experience to equivalent levelWorking and partnering with vendors (e.g. IBM, DELL, Broadcom)Supporting and / or leading technical management of large infrastructure deployment projectsExperience supporting large-scale enterprise IT environment and the embedded controls within change, incident, and problem management processesExperience working with Agile working practices and toolingExperience and awareness of security, audit, risk and compliance within enterprise IT environment

IBM DS8K disk hardware installation design, upgrade and support skills including DSCLI scripting and familiarity with HMC GUIIBM Virtual tape solutions (TS7700’s / GRID), implementation, management and supportDisk replication protocols and products ... such as IBM PPRC & Global Mirror, or equivalentBroadcom (Brocade) and/or CISCO MDS … FICON / FIBRE switches SAN implementation and support.

Software Technical Skills
