A DAY IN THE LIFE:  

As an experienced global logistics analyst who supports Tandem’s global logistics and fulfilment function. You will be responsible for managing our transportation providers and warehouses through analytical support, along with driving improvements in our fulfilment processes. Will support strategic planning of new market entry needs, help implement and manage warehouse and freight systems, and project-based shipment planning. Will play an instrumental role in enabling global fulfillment as Tandem expands its global footprint through systems and developing process changes. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

In this role, you will be responsible for managing corporate shipments and inventory fulfilment needs for internal customers. This will involve working closely with any new transportation management systems that are implemented. Your focus will be on ensuring that the shipment and inventory needs of internal customers are met efficiently.

System administration and development of new standard operating procedures and documents in conjunction with systemic ERP changes. 

Maintains order to cash management and input into global footprint based on cost savings and consolidation plans. 

Manages improvement of processes and costs, negotiation with brokers, forwarders, truckers, and handle issues with any shipment needs, both inbound and outbound. 

Program analytics to determine inventory management needs throughout the globe. 

Contribute to continuous improvement within the area of responsibility through data analysis and creation of metrics, KPI’s, and executive financial reports. 

Assist management and logistics managers in the development of procedures and processes which improve Tandem’s ability to meet product system and customer requirements. 

Communicate with peers and supervisors regularly, document work, meetings, and decisions. 

Provide business leaders with clear awareness of current state process, system capabilities, and future roadmap in conjunction with peers and managers in local regions. 

Interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers. 

Collaborate with third party logistics providers, carriers, and freight brokers to maintain and continuously improve service levels and costs associated with third-party transportation. 

Provide support in the evaluation of quotations received from third party partners to assure that all pertinent information is available; best price, and service. 

Develops, implements, and maintains service contracts. In addition, policies and procedures in support of compliance. 

Manages 3rd party logistics for finished goods inventory and distribution including the systems integration for tracking. 

Serves as liason between 3rd party logistics provider and Sales and Technical Support. 

Maintains internal and 3rd party logistics provider performance metrics. 

Participate in the development of new services and systems. 

Other responsibilities as assigned. 

 EXTRA AWESOME:   

Knowledge, skills & abilities: 

Understanding of shipping concepts and principals such as inbound and outbound goods; International Traffic Coordination and INCOTERMS 

Change management skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment 

Strong knowledge of the ERP system for scheduling, inventory control and shipping 

High analytical aptitude capable of interpreting data to identify trends 

Project Management skills 

Ability to work with little or no direction, can work independently and collaboratively as a team member to meet goals while maintaining an organized and systematic approach to task completion 

Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, and research skills a must 

Consistently meets or exceeds our internal and external customers’ expectations 

Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for effective management reporting and presentation 

Ability to both lead and act as a member of a team 

 Minimum certifications/educational level: 

BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Industrial engineering, Logistics, Procurement or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience. 

APICS certification is a plus. 

Medical device background preferred.
