Job Description
McDonald’s UK & Ireland is looking for a commercially minded Senior Location Planner to join our Development team. You’ll play a key role in evaluating new site opportunities and shaping our location strategy across the UK and Ireland, from drive thru restaurants to high street restaurants and other formats. This is an outstanding opportunity to join the highly successful development team of one of the most iconic brands in the world.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Appraise new site opportunities across various formats, including drive thru, drive to, high street and delivery kitchens including forecasting impacts on existing restaurantsSupport and evolve our location strategy, guiding the acquisitions team on priority areasMaintain and enhance estate databases, GIS systems, and competitor datasetsMonitor competitor activity and provide insights on their strategy and impactDevelop and refine our sales and impact estimation processesManage relationships with external consultants and data suppliersAnalyse internal and external data to support decision-making and strategy developmentLeverage customer data (App/Reward) to inform sales forecastingTrack post-opening performance and provide actionable insightsRespond to geo-demographic data requests from across the businessQualifications
What You’ll Need:
Extensive experience in Location Planning or a related fieldDegree in GIS, Geography, or a numerate discipline (or equivalent experience)Strong knowledge of UK & Ireland geography and the restaurant/retail sectorProficient in geospatial tools (e.g. MapInfo, Alteryx) and Microsoft OfficeExperience with data tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI)Understanding of sales forecasting and customer/market data analysisAbility to communicate insights clearly and influence senior stakeholdersSelf-starter with excellent time management and prioritisation skillsTeam player with a passion for learning and developmentFull UK driving licence (Essential)Additional Information
