Senior Loan Accountant
Job Title: Sr Loan Accountant Job Description We are seeking a skilled Sr. Loan Accountant to join our team, responsible for processing and reconciling daily cash settlements, creating and maintaining loan records, and preparing and analyzing loan accounting reports. This role involves working with both wholesale and retail loan processing, ensuring accuracy and timely communication with stakeholders. Responsibilities + Process and reconcile daily cash settlements for clients off-loan accounting and GL systems. + Reconcile clients' cash clearing accounts ADBs to ensure they remain within threshold. + Make adjustments to ensure accurate interest expense calculation on wholesale loans. + Create wholesale loan records and input maintenance on commitment details in loan accounting system. + Calculate MCD rate for wholesale loans and update systems as appropriate. + Notify stakeholders of changes to wholesale notes as needed. + Process wholesale and retail fees. + Create customer records and commitment details, setting up loans according to requirements from loan officers. + Analyze and process monetary and maintenance transactions in accordance with contract parameters. + Research discrepancies and determine appropriate resolution. + Prepare and analyze various weekly and monthly loan accounting reports. + Perform asset pool related accounting functions including loan setups, workbook modifications, daily entries, maintenance, and reporting. + Administer reconciliation system and assist team members on bank balancing system. + Monitor and reconcile assigned accounts on daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis, identifying, researching, and resolving reconciling items. + Contact clients or other departments to gather information to resolve issues. + Prepare and submit journal entries to correct items discovered in reconciling duties. + Provide guidance to team members on cash account reconciliation. + Perform weekly reconciliation of wholesale loan disbursement issues, following up on outstanding issues for timely and accurate resolution. + Compile and distribute quarterly outstanding check registers to clients. + Perform and participate in training for new/promoted team members and new/revised processes. + Coordinate requests from departments, auditors, and other third parties. + Prepare and submit requested information to departments, auditors, and other third parties. Essential Skills + 4+ years of loan accounting experience (loan participation, loan setup, loan maintenance, loan accounting). + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. + 4+ years of advanced Excel skills along with experience in large ERPs/reporting tools. + Proficiency in journal entry, general ledger, audit, reporting, and reconciliation. Work Environment This position is located in a beautiful building in Downtown St. Paul, featuring very nice workspaces. The role requires working in the office 2 days per week, with paid parking provided. The team culture is fun and supportive, with quarterly gatherings for team meetings and outings. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $39.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
