Main responsibilities:

The Litigation Department is looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join the team reporting to the Senior Counsel, Litigation. The Senior Litigation Paralegal is responsible for providing support to a team of attorneys handling litigation and related legal matters. 

 

Litigation 

Analyzing food labeling claims including Proposition 65 and California Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) claims, reviewing supplier agreements and preparing tender notices  Providing analysis and assistance on affirmative recovery claims  Partnering with Litigation Counsel on Telephone Consumer Protection Act compliance and analyze marketing and advertising claims    Coordinating with business clients, third parties, and law enforcement to respond to subpoenas, third-party discovery requests and small disputes  Analyzing documents and preparing timelines   Review and transmittal of service of process  Discovery tasks in complex litigation, including deposition coordination, witness interviews, and written discovery including preparing witnesses for depositions and reviewing deposition transcripts   Analyzing and resolving small claims  Drafting settlement agreements and responses to non-complex demand letters  Preparing training or slide decks on legal issues for business units  Working with e-billing issues including budgeting questions with outside law firms  Assisting with litigation management by developing and maintaining matter management dashboards, litigation calendars, metrics, and reports  Performing other administrative duties as assigned 

E-Discovery 

Coordinating with custodians to identify relevant documents and storage repositories in response to discovery requests  Liaising with Litigation eDiscovery team to institute litigation holds, conduct witness interviews, and collect custodial documents 
 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Bachelor’s Degree and/or paralegal studies certificate required from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited program  Significant experience as a litigation paralegal, including primary responsibility for a database or one or more significant areas of the law  eDiscovery experience  Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications  Comfortable using, and learning how to use, legal technology and databases  Proven ability to work well with others and to work independently with minimal supervision  Able to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort  Plans, organizes, and schedules in an efficient, productive manner; focuses on key priorities; manages time well  Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Prior in-house legal experience is a plus  Experience with retail, grocery retail, or food manufacturing is a plus  Experience with Legal Tracker or other case management platforms is a plus 

The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA and Boise, ID.

The salary range is $83,600-$108,620 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility  for exceptional candidates.

Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked)  or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility).
