Job Description Title: Senior Lead Engineer (P3) (Hybrid)
Primary Responsibilities:
Validate the MOC (Material of Concern) data at Part and Assembly level material and finish processesDecomposition of aerospace standard material and finish process specificationsCoordinate with design team in material selection and MOC validation for new designs as per company policyIdentify and validate the alternative materials for REACH complianceSupport in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Design for Environment and Sustainability goalsPropose sustainable alternatives and lead long-term roadmaps for high-impact material transitionsBasic Qualifications:
7 to 10 years of work experience.Bachelor’ degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Material, or Metallurgical EngineeringPrimary Skills:
Knowledge of chemical families (e.g., PFAS, isocyanates), harmful chemicals and sustainable alternativesKnowledge on digital tools e.g., CDX, SAP EHSM, Sphera and other tools for chemical regulation risk mitigationAbility to interpret evolving regulations (e.g., EU REACH, EPA PFAS, TSCA, Japan CSCL) and proactively adapt to business strategyAbility to interpret data from Engineering drawings and technical specificationsKnowledge on Materials and corrosion protection processes as per aerospace industry standardsExperience in basic operations of CAD tools (CATIA V5, UG NX)Working Knowledge on Siemens PLM Teamcenter software applicationExposure to Automotive/Aerospace Manufacturing and Operations ActivitiesAwareness on chemical management process in production environmentBasic knowledge on Product Design, Materials selection, and Process developmentKnowledge on DO-160, Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne EquipmentGood communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independentlyMS Office tools experienceCollins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
