Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find a Senior Lab Specialist to work a +1-year contract (12-hour shift rotating shift) in Houston, TX. 
 
The Lab Specialist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Maintaining local area instrumentation including routine maintenance and SQC Managing laboratory data for the local area. Providing technical support and training for crude oil testing to process technicians in the local area. Performing laboratory analysis (primarily crude oil testing) for custody quality measurement and product quality control. Communicates any problems, discrepancies or other noteworthy incidents to the supervisor or internal customer without delay. Supports and participates in safety programs and meetings Demonstrates a high level of integrity in all business dealings

Qualifications - External

 The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry is required. 5+ years extensive industry experience with crude oil testing methods, including ICP metals analysis, high temperature simulated distillation, and other methods commonly used analysis of crude oil samples, is required in lieu of degree. Experience with Wet Chemistry, API, ASTM, and UOP test methods in the crude oil industries. SQC experience in a laboratory environment, supporting charts and issue identification. Laboratory Information Management Systems experience (Labworks preferred). Possess a strong commitment to personal and job safety. Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required. Must possess basic computer skills and proficient in MS Office applications including spreadsheet and word processing. Good verbal/written communication skills, decision making skills and a strong work ethic. Must be accountable and self-driven to learn, and to continuously develop and improve his/her skills through both formalized and on the job training. Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time is required, normally not overnight.
