What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s Contact Centre Technology team, the Senior Project Manager, IT is a seasoned expert responsible for overseeing the day-to-day project activities of complex projects of a tactical nature, ensuring project control procedures and policies are adhered as per technology’s project performance standards. The role works with minimal direction, applying deep knowledge in their field of expertise to manage the delivery of project management best practices and processes including reporting, project planning, and support activities. The Senior Project Manager, IT uses significant latitude in determining objectives and leads employees in the development of analytical approaches, while establishing and maintaining client, senior management, and project manager relationships.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

Project Management- Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs. Create a resource plan that ensures all stakeholders have a voice on the project. Assess the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team and provide guidance that will continuously improve the project plan. 

Relationship Management- Manage relationships with delivery areas and business partners; interface and maintain communications, monitor business and technology developments and provide on-time response and support. Proactively manage vendor relationships (onshore and offshore) for project resources to ensure effective utilization.

Strong Leadership- Be a bold and authentic leader who is passionate about developing and coaching to bring out the best in people.  Direct, motivate, develop and manage performance of the management team and key staff.

Who you are

You can demonstrate at least 6-10years of experience. In project management, ideally within the financial services or technology industry. You have managed cross-portfolio projects in a matrix environment. You have experience with waterfall and agile methodologies and knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC). You have experience with project management and issue management tools like Planview, ServiceNow, and JIRA. It’s an asset if you have your PMP designation.
