Our Technology team has 6 different departments: Information Security, Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, eCommerce & Marketing Technology, Data and Stores, Services & Supply Chain.

About the Location

Collaborative Work Environment:
At PetSmart, teamwork and connection are core to how we thrive. This role is based at our Phoenix Home Office, with an expectation of working a minimum of four days in the office each week. In a standard work week, associates may work up to one remote “flex day” (with leader approval). Our hybrid approach is designed to foster strong collaboration while also supporting flexibility and individual success.

PetSmart is looking for an experienced Technology Project Manager who will provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on supply chain distribution, transportation, and direct to customer fulfillment services. This role will be accountable for working with cross-functional teams to implement and deliver solutions aligned with PetSmart’s strategic objectives. The Project Manager will oversee typical areas of project management such as project planning and coordination, communication, budget, schedule, and risks, while ensuring organized and managed change.

PROGRAM & PROJECT

Provide project management support for one or more projectsParticipate in early forecast activities to estimate staffing and effort to scope projectsSupport definition of project governance structurePlan / Participate in Project Leadership / Steering Committee meetingsAnticipate risks, drive contingency planning, and resolve roadblocksResponsible for the overall delivery of technical environments supporting highly complex, cross-functional projects impacting the enterpriseAccountable for scope, schedule, financials review, financial tracking and communication managementUnderstand and advocate best practices in high-level system designsProvide leadership and direction in the design, development, support, and implementation of business capabilities as it relates to technical deliveryParticipate in the development and sustainability of Project Management FrameworksManage day-to-day budget for assigned projectsMay drive contracts/SOWs, oversee budgets; review expenditures and partner to analyze variancesLearn business and technical area supporting to help give guidance on appropriate priorities and criticalities

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 5+ years’ experience with industry standard applications and technologies, leading the implementation of highly complex systems and business capabilitiesStrong Financial Acumen requiredProject budget responsibilities, experience managing over $1 million dollar plus budgetsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and relationship building skillsProficient in project management discipline and tools; MS Project, MS Office Suite, JIRA, ConfluencePMP, CSM or other certifications with demonstrable application desired

PREFERRED

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, and 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience3+ years experience with supply chain or fulfillment applications and technologies
