The primary purpose of a Functional Analyst’s role is to align IT projects with Arrow’s business objectives and customer needs. This involves:
Business Requirements Analysis: The FA is responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, understanding the impact of new functionalities on source systems.
System Testing: Conducting thorough testing to ensure that systems operate as expected is a crucial part of the FA’s role.
Incident Support and Resolution: The FA provides support for IT incidents, investigates and documents these incidents, and develops long-term solutions (Tactical projects) with our vendors and IT technical team to prevent their recurrence.
Driving Technological Innovation and Process Automation: A key part of the FA’s role is to drive technological innovation and process automation in IT operations. This includes researching new technologies and solutions to determine their potential impact on the IT roadmap.
In essence, the Functional Analyst serves as a bridge between the company’s business goals and its IT capabilities, ensuring that technology effectively supports the organization’s objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Projects
Gather business requirements and ensure that IT projects align with the goals and needs of the business. Analyze processes within a company to fulfill customer needs. Use user stories to define features or requirements of an end user. Understand the source system impact when implementing new functionality, connectivity and integrations. Conduct testing to ensure that the systems work as expected, prepare test scripts, support UAT and create user manuals. Hands-on configuration of the Treasury Management System and other Arrow applications if needed Provide end user support, troubleshoot issues, and guide users on system capabilities.
ServiceNow Support
Provide support to users experiencing IT incidents (e.g. investigating the problems, answering questions about issues etc.,) Investigate incidents and document them properly Identify recurring incidents and underlying problems in the IT infrastructure. Develop and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence Provide support for maintenance and upgrades
System Monitoring
Monitor job errors, work together with our vendors to investigate the root cause of the defects and recommend solutions. Monitor internal environment to ensure systems are designed and operate with an appropriate level of internal controls.
Technological Innovation and Process Automation
Focus on continuous improvements and process automations (e.g. AI, RPA, etc.) Researching on new technologies and solutions to determine their potential impact on the IT roadmap
Qualification and Skills
Skills
Experience with data mapping for data warehouses and building solutions in Microsoft Azure.
Strong understanding of data integration processes and ETL workflows for data warehouse environments.
Working knowledge of IT, Accounting and Treasury preferred.
Knowledge and training with Finance/ ERP applications including functional and system administration.
Strong ability to work as part of a team, work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation, and able to lead and manage specified projects.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Exceptional communications skills, both oral and written, with the ability to work in an international, multi-cultural organization.
Ability to communicate complex information to a variety of end users
Demonstrate critical thinking and practical problem-solving abilities
International experience is beneficial.
Exceptional skills in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Visio and PM tool
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Accounting, Finance, business administration or computer science is required. Master’s degree is preferred
Experience:
Prefer no less than two years of experience in IT, Accounting or Finance
Reporting Structure:
The FA will report to the IT Application Manager
Work Environment:
The FA will support the team globally. This may require flexible working hours and hybrid home office work depending on the HR policy in the region.
