If these words resonate with you, we should talk. **Job Overview** **Position Schedule:** Full-Time The Canadian Portfolio Management team is responsible for the design, implementation, marketing, and ongoing management of fully discretionary multi-asset investment programs that deliver Edward Jones' best thinking to clients, in a fiduciary relationship, across multiple risk profiles and investment objectives. This team has overall responsibility for asset allocation implementation, portfolio construction, and manager/fund/security selection within firm discretionary multi-asset model portfolios (including Edward Jones Models, SMAs and UMAs) and is ultimately responsible for the investment performance of these portfolios, which has direct client impact. The team is comprised of investment analysts and licensed Portfolio Managers who are experts in portfolio design, asset allocation, security selection and implementing tactical allocations within the portfolio. They will partner with other Advice & Guidance teams, including Investment Manager Research, Securities Research and the Asset Allocation team, to bring Edward Jones' best thinking to life while effectively accounting for and addressing the unique nuances and structure of the Canadian market. The Senior Investment Analyst role is to support the team's investment decision making by providing in-depth analysis and research. Their primary functions include conducting comprehensive research on US and Canadian equities, drafting clear and insightful market commentary, diligently tracking market events and news related to portfolio companies, and performing other tasks as needed to assist in the investment process. Key Responsibilities: + Support the Canadian Portfolio Management Team (PMT) in conducting in-depth research and analysis to optimize asset allocation across different asset classes (including equities, fixed income, alternatives and cash) and preparing investment recommendations for Edward Jones Model Portfolios, SMAs and UMAs + Conduct fundamental and quantitative research on individual companies and industries to identify equity investment opportunities for Edward Jones SMAs. + Contribute to the investment decision making process by assisting in the asset allocation implementation, portfolio construction and manager/security selection process + Work in partnership with Investment Strategy, Portfolio Solutions, Research, Investment Risk Group, Asset Allocation Team, and other internal stakeholders and committees in making better informed decisions consistent with the firm's long-term strategy. + Deliver effective written and verbal communication on investment ideas and industry knowledge to financial advisors, clients, internal departments, firm leaders, and investment professional contacts (as needed). + Actively look for opportunities to improve and further develop knowledge around portfolio construction, risk, asset allocation, investment managers, and market. + Deliver quality service to financial advisors and internal departments by responding to information requests. The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate. **Hiring Minimum:** $97400 **Hiring Maximum:** $165800 Read More About Job Overview **Skills/Requirements** + Bachelor's degree in related field + MBA Preferred + 3-5 years experience minimum + CFA considered an asset and required within 4 years + Solid knowledge of: + asset allocation, portfolio construction, and portfolio risk management. + various types of investments, asset classes, and finanical markets. + fundamental equity analysis, including analysis of industry attractiveness and single stock valuation. + mutual fund and money management industry + various managed investments including mutual funds, ETFs, UMAs, and separately managed accounts. + Sound understanding of taxes and financial planning related items + Proven ability to solve complex, non-routine problems, often with incomplete information. + Proven ability to gather all relevant facts, analyze the information and apply seasoned judgment to make the final investment decision on behalf of clients. + Proven ability to proactively seek out new investment ideas and regularly make investment decisions, on behalf of our clients, based on a thorough and detailed analysis of historical data and future expectations. + Proven ability to prepare reports and statistical data for use in the formulation of investment recommendations. + Ability to apply sound judgement, critical thinking and formulate recommendations by analyzing large amounts of information. + Must be able to work well within a team and have the communication skills required to express ideas and research to other areas of the firm, mutual fund companies, and money management firms. + Ability to represent Edward Jones in meetings and conference calls with money managers and senior management of mutual fund companies and money management firms. + Must have strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing and presenting preliminary research to the PMT as well as responding to requests from branch teams and various internal departments and committees.
