SENIOR INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

Airswift is seeking for a Senior instrumentation Engineer to work with our client based in QATAR.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Minimum 6 years of experience in the oil and gas industry Strong technical expertise in: DCS, PLCs, ESD/F&G Systems Anti-Surge Control Systems Metering Systems Turbine/Compressor Control Systems SIL (Safety Integrity Level) requirements Proficient in the use of engineering and business software tools, including: Microsoft Office SAP CONVAL InstruCal
Responsibilities Lead and support Instrumentation and Fire & Gas (F&G) engineering activities during EPC and startup phases through to asset handover. Ensure engineering deliverables meet safety, operability, reliability, and maintainability requirements throughout the facility life cycle Provide expert input into project decisions, balancing both CAPEX and long-term OPEX impacts Ensure adherence to all applicable project specifications, procedures, and best practices Participate in technical design reviews (e.g., SIL assessments, HAZOPs) and ensure alignment with operational requirements Deliver specialized engineering support for commissioning, startup, system failure analysis, and advanced troubleshooting Develop and implement: Instrumentation and F&G surveillance and administration programs Reliability and cyber-security measures for new projects Integrity management strategies for critical systems Provide cross-disciplinary technical input and collaboration to support project and operations teams Supervise and manage contractor, consultant, and service provider activities related to instrumentation and F&G systems Mentor and guide junior engineers in reliability, safety, and integrity best practices Support the integration and tie-in of new systems with existing facilities Maintain an Issue Register to manage and resolve critical technical issues, including emerging technology risks Oversee high-risk commissioning activities for complex projects, including: Rigorous system monitoring System tuning and optimization Advisory support to operations and maintenance teams
