Senior HR Specialist - Shared Services - Mobility

For more information, visit www.spglobal.com/mobility . **The Role** The **Senior HR Specialist – Shared Services (NAM)** is an individual contributor responsible for delivering high-quality HR Shared Services support for employees in **Mexico** , with ongoing coordination and support for **Canada and the United States** . This role serves as a **regional HR operations and employee support control point** , ensuring HR transactions, employee inquiries, and employment-related matters are managed accurately, compliantly, and in alignment with global standards and local labor requirements across North America. The role emphasizes **oversight, coordination, triage, documentation quality, and risk management** , rather than sole ownership of complex employee relations matters. The specialist partners closely with **HR Business Partners, Legal, Payroll, HR Technology, and external vendors** to ensure consistent and compliant HR service delivery. **Responsibilities and Impact** **HR Shared Services Oversight & Data Governance** + Ensure **accuracy and integrity of HR data** in the HRIS (e.g., Workday) for employees in Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. + Oversee and validate HR lifecycle transactions (hire, change, leave, termination) executed through shared services, payroll teams, or external vendors. + Act as a **regional escalation point** for HR operational issues, data discrepancies, and service delivery gaps. + Partner with HR Technology and Shared Services to resolve root causes and improve data and process quality. + Support consistent application of HR policies, SOPs, and service standards across North America, with appropriate local interpretation. **Employee & Manager Support** + Serve as a senior HR contact for **employees and people leaders** on HR policies, procedures, and HR system inquiries. + Triage employee and manager questions to the appropriate resolution path (self-service, shared services execution, HRBP, Legal). + Provide guidance to managers on **performance management processes, leave administration, and employee lifecycle events** , aligned to local laws and global frameworks. + Support onboarding, offboarding, and organizational changes with a clear, compliant, and employee-focused approach. **Employment Matters & Compliance Coordination** + Monitor and coordinate **employment-related matters** , ensuring timely involvement of HR Business Partners and Legal where risks or sensitivities exist. + Independently manage **routine, low-risk employee issues** where appropriate; escalate medium- to high-risk matters with relevant context and documentation. + Ensure employment matters are **properly documented, tracked, and closed** in accordance with local labor laws and internal governance requirements. + Proactively surface trends or emerging risks related to employee relations, compliance, or workforce practices. **Regional Coordination (Mexico, Canada, U.S.)** + Act as a **local HR subject-matter resource for Mexico** , with working knowledge of how HR practices interface with U.S. and Canadian requirements. + Coordinate with regional payroll providers and EOR partners (where applicable) to ensure compliant execution of statutory benefits, leaves, and reporting. + Support cross-border collaboration by translating regional requirements into clear operational guidance for global teams. **Reporting, Controls & Continuous Improvement** + Produce recurring HR reports, including **headcount, data quality indicators, inquiry volumes, and service delivery metrics** . + Analyze trends to identify operational risks, compliance gaps, or opportunities for process improvement. + Contribute to continuous improvement of **HR shared services workflows, controls, documentation, and knowledge articles** across North America. **Compensation/Benefits** **Information (US Applicants Only):** Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
