Senior Histology Technician – Surgical Pathology

Work Schedule: 
100% FTE, day shift. Monday – Friday 4:00AM – 12:00PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

 

Pay:

This position may be eligible for a $4,000 sign-on bonus.Additional components of compensation may include: Evening and night shift differentialWeekend differentialOn-call pay

Play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care, performing a wide range of procedures that assist our providers with the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients and their health needs.

 

We are seeking a Senior Histology Technician – Surgical Pathology to:

Provide daily direction to laboratory staff with regard to laboratory policies and procedures and serve as the dedicated resource for procedures, equipment and education.Serve as a comprehensive provider of laboratory testing, expert medical interpretation of specimens and innovation in laboratory technologyDevelop and maintain teaching / training materials.Coordinate work-flow throughout the laboratory to ensure quality results are reported in a clinically useful time frame.

 QualificationsAssociate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology OR Education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include:
Education: 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses RequiredBachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science Preferred Work Experience2 years histology or relevant laboratory experience Required3 years histology or relevant laboratory experience Preferred Licenses & CertificationsHistotechnician / Histotechnologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent Preferred Our Commitment to Social Impact and BelongingUW Health is committed to fostering a workplace that creates belonging for everyone and is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
