ABOUT THE POSITION

Senior Civil Highway Project Manager | Hybrid | Wethersfield, CT

 

VHB's Wethersfield office is seeking a Senior Highway Project Manager who is passionate about managing innovative transportation engineering projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and growing team, and to tackle many of CT's local, state and federally funded municipal and state roadways, streetscape, bike facility, and safety projects. Experience working with state and local transportation agencies, as well as an understanding of local, CT, and federal funding requirements is highly desired.

Responsibilities

VHB is seeking an individual to lead tasks and manage transportation projects within a team of highly motivated professionals. This may include:

Provide guidance, administrative, and technical engineering support for federal and state funded transportation projectsDevelop reports, schedules, and project related documentationTransportation project quality assurance reviewsCost estimatingProject managementSupporting the production of design plans, calculations, specifications, and permitting documents (including but not limited to highway/roadway design, complete street design, safety improvements, grading and drainage design, and utility relocation coordination)Assisting with scheduling and management of project financials

Skills and Attributes

Comprehensive understanding of FHWA and CTDOT design standards, requirements, and administrative proceduresExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsDetail oriented and quality focusedTeam oriented with strong capability to work independentlyMotivated to mentor othersDemonstrated success with the administration of federal funding

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in transportation engineeringCTDOT project experience requiredBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field requiredMaster’s degree a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience)

The base salary range for this position is $135,000-$170,000. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, and geographic location.
