**Job Title:** Senior Hardware & Robotics Technician
**Location:** Onsite – Redmond, WA 98052
**Contract Duration:** 6 – 18 Months
**Pay Rate:** $65/hr. – $70/hr.
**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a **hands-on Robotics Lab Technician** to join our team and support the day-to-day operations, safety, and technical workflows within the **B25 Robotics Lab** —a hub for our client's cutting-edge Physical AI and Robotics initiatives. This role is instrumental in ensuring hardware readiness, supporting safe and scalable experimentation, and maintaining engineering velocity across robotic research and development efforts.
**Top 3 Required Skills & Experience:**
1. **2+ years** in a robotics lab, R&D lab, or engineering prototyping environment.
2. **2+ years** of experience with simulation environments to validate robotic actions prior to physical deployment.
3. **2+ years** of experience in cloud computing or software development support related to robotics systems.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain daily lab operations, ensuring safety compliance, cleanliness, and organization per client standards.
+ Conduct robot fleet maintenance: battery conditioning, software provisioning, sensor diagnostics.
+ Execute sensor calibration (e.g., cameras, IMUs, LiDAR) and assist in reconfiguring testbeds for varying experiments.
+ Schedule and manage testbed equipment reservations, maximizing shared resource usage.
+ Set up and tear down hardware-in-the-loop tests, motion capture systems, and test environments.
+ Enforce safety protocols during physical testing and act as on-site contact during safety audits.
+ Assemble, wire, flash firmware, and bring up robotic prototypes and new platforms.
+ Track consumables, manage hardware inventory, and maintain repair logs.
+ Provide hands-on support to research engineers during experiments and assist with troubleshooting.
+ Assist with integration of cloud-connected robotic systems, AI workloads, and simulation tools.
+ Monitor data-driven experiments in real-time involving robotic control, navigation, and perception.
+ Collect, curate, and manage robotic datasets.
+ Support technical execution across embedded systems, networking, software, and AI components.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
+ 2+ years of practical experience in robotics or engineering lab environments.
+ Familiarity with mobile robots, robotic manipulators, and perception sensors.
+ Working knowledge of physical lab safety practices and standards.
+ Basic proficiency in using hand tools, soldering equipment, and electronics troubleshooting.
+ Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical schematics and technical assembly documents.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with **ROS (Robot Operating System)** or equivalent robotics middleware.
+ Exposure to **AI-based robotic systems** , data collection processes, and field deployment logistics.
+ Familiarity with simulation platforms like **Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo** , and their integration into cloud workflows.
+ Knowledge of testbed calibration tools and best practices.
+ Experience with **ML/AI test cycles** in either simulation or physical hardware environments.
+ Proficiency in **cloud computing** , particularly **Azure** and related services.
+ Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities in a high-velocity lab setting.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
