Job Description:
Provides specialized technical support and solutions for the operations and maintenance teams. Understands and implements Most Effective Technology (MET), work process, preventive predictive maintenance plan, tools and industry best maintenance and operation practices within the electrical discipline. The Hardware Discipline engineer will support the plant electrical operational demands both for the power rectifiers and the electrical power distribution system, will support small and intermediate electrical projects. This job requires an interface with the Brazilian regulatory system (ONS / ANEEL / CHESF) on its operational and administrative demands. The management of the power Consumption, power demand, power factor level and energy costs are also part of this job.
Responsibilities:
+ Ensures that all operations activities are going to be performed in a safe and reliable way.
+ Ensures all electrical drawings are updated, available and posted as needs.
+ Serves as the leader of the electrical discipline in the plant. Has accountability for electrical system results and for the implementation of and adherence to all relevant work processes and best practices.
+ Directs activities within the electrical discipline and coordinates activities/interfaces with other disciplines.
+ Ensures their deliverables meet the needs of the plant including functioning as intended, on time and within budget.
+ Ensures the electrical system reliability.
+ Keeps the ppm plan on tracking, analyze the reports results, and implement the correction items.
+ Serves as a Site focal point with the Brazilian Regulatory agencies (ANEEL, ONS, CHESF).
+ Ensure the operational electrical system excellence and the equipment reliability.
+ Work with the plant staff to guarantee the correct addressing of the electrical discipline needs, (PPM, TA, Budget, Capital Projects, expenses).
Experience:
+ A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering – Power Systems.
+ 10 years of experience in Electrical discipline (electrical systems operations and maintenance).
+ Advanced English skills.
+ Knowledge in electrical power and protection systems, including HV and MV substations (having knowledge of rectifiers would be a plus).
