Senior Graphic Designer
Work Flexibility: Hybrid

​​This technical and creative role is responsible for developing and creating various forms of visual communication with application to product information and instructional design.​ 

​​Technical Expertise & Key Responsibilities 

​Conceptualize, analyze, and develop graphical solutions for a range of medical devices. Solutions impact instructional media, device features, user interfaces, carton artwork and beyond.  

​Responsible for research and solutions that address technical communication/instructional issues in the healthcare sector including OUS markets 

​Develop best practices for visual communications that ensure order, consistency, clarity, conciseness in style and appearance of deliverables. 

​Stay abreast of technologies and trends, applying them when applicable to solve problems and enhance our business 

​Utilize enterprise PLM system 

​Multi-task and execute flawlessly and consistently in a fast-paced environment with competing demands 

​ 

​ 

​Strategic Project & Department Leadership 

​Effectively plan and track projects and workload in a multi-project environment while effectively communicating timelines with project teams.  

​Generate cost/time/cost-avoidance estimates to facilitate project efficiency. 

​Initiate, support and/or lead continuous improvement endeavors 

​ 

​Collaboration & Influence 

​Work closely with functional area team and adjacent departments (Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Packaging Engineering, Product Safety, Clinical Sciences, Industrial Design, etc.) to influence instructional content and ensure it is conveyed properly. This includes involvement in usability testing. 

​Ability to communicate and collaborate globally including awareness of cultural differences and a sense of inclusiveness.​ 

Education and Training

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Art or relevant field of study.   

AAS degree with demonstrated progressive relevant design experience preferably in healthcare, medical device, or other highly regulated industry. 

2 or more years design experience  

Qualifications and Experience

​​

​Excellent visual communication skills with experience in use of visual and graphic techniques  

​Must be able to analyze the user experience through observation and understanding of audience needs 

​Proficiency in design, multimedia software/applications including but not limited to Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator 

​Demonstrated project management and internal consulting skills, with ability to influence without authority 

​Demonstrated graphical technical illustration ability for conveying instructional information 

​Strong written and verbal communication skills 

​Experience with project and time management skills 

​Professional and positive approach, solution-oriented, self-starter 

​Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work within schedules 

​Passion for quality design and innovation 

​Demonstrated relationship building skills and customer service orientation 

​Demonstrated ability to adapt and guide others through rapidly changing situations 

​Demonstrated ability to understand product functionality  

​Ability to read engineering prints and interpret CAD models 

​Application of medical device labeling standards and requirements

 Physical and Mental Requirements

​​​Sedentary work performed in typical office environments  

​Generally, involves sitting most of the time and interfacing with a computer 

​Must be able to view printed and on-screen information to verify accuracy 

​Must be able to communicate through multiple means and technologies  

​Must be able to enter data accurately and efficiently

​​​Must have problem solving skills and the ability an ability to respond and adapt to change is desired 

​Must be able to work quickly and efficiently on documents and tasks while maintaining high quality in work

​Must be able to understand and apply new and/or advanced technologies applicable to functional area 

​Must be able to analyze and resolve visual design, graphical interpretations, and desktop publishing issues using independent judgement 

​Ability to follow processes prescribed by the business​
