Senior GHG Accounting Specialist

Goodyear is seeking a **Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting Specialist** to lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of energy and emissions data across our global operations. This role will ensure accurate GHG inventories aligned with leading frameworks and support audits, documentation, and third-party assurance. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in GHG accounting with a passion for sustainability, driving actionable insights that shape our decarbonization strategy.
**Job Description**
As a GHG Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end process of collecting energy and emissions data, applying the right methodologies, and ensuring consistency with frameworks such as the **GHG Protocol, CDP, CSRD, ISSB, and SBTi** . You will:
+ Maintain and enhance systems and processes for emissions calculation (climate software and manual back-up).
+ Develop and validate Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions inventories, including new categories such as FLAG.
+ Collaborate with ESG Data Governance, Finance, and subject matter experts to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
+ Manage documentation, approvals, and audit readiness while supporting external assurance processes.
+ Prepare energy and emissions reports for global, regional, and local stakeholders, and contribute to lifecycle assessments and product-level analysis.
+ Provide insights and modeling to guide Goodyear’s decarbonization and sustainability strategies.
**Basic Qualifications** (minimum requirements)
+ Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
+ Demonstrated experience in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, carbon reporting, or ESG data management.
+ Strong knowledge of the GHG Protocol and emissions calculation methodologies.
+ Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical topics clearly.
