Responsibilities:

Review of the Kibali Geotechnical models (MRMM, LOM stress model, Significant Geotechnical Structures, etc...).Review and update the Kibali ground control systems and standards (Ground Control Management Plan, standards, etc...)Provide sounds geotechnical inputs to mine designs. Develop and implement a concise training and development program for the Kibali Geotechnical team.Collaborate and manage external consultants.Manage the day-to-day Geotech team.Promote health and safety in the workplace.Work within ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.

Qualifications :

Tertiary qualification in Mining / Geotechnical / Geological Engineering

Experience and Skills Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in underground mining.A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Underground Geotechnical Engineer would also be an advantage.Good understanding of mining processes.Have a Driver’s License or obtain one within 3 months of service.Strong knowledge of paste/hydraulic fill plant operations, cementitiousKnowledge of underground & open pit mining techniques and trackless equipment employed.Knowledge of geotechnical software such as RS2, RS3, DIPS, Unwedge, RocData, Map3D.Knowledge of mine design software such as, Deswik CAD, Leapfrog Geo.Good interpersonal skills.Sound judgement and analytical skills.Task and results driven Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
