Senior Fuel Fabrication Engineer

Volt is immediately hiring for a Senior Fuel Fabrication Engineer in Remote 

 

Position Type: Full time (Contract)

Duration: 12 months

 

As a Senior Fuel Fabrication Engineer, you will be:

 

Responsibilities: 

Work with interdisciplinary team of engineers to ensure fuel that is fabricated meets the overall objectives Provides technical guidance, planning, and iterative oversight for Type 1 fuel fabrication. Travels to client’s Everett, WA laboratory and/or other locations to meet with key stakeholders. Compose and review technical documents to support fuel fabrication process development and fuel supply planning. Supports alignment between GNF and client on technical issues, fuel fabrication facility design strategies, and implementation of licensing strategy.

Key Qualifications and Skills

A minimum of a Doctorate Degree of Science degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering A minimum of 5 years of experience in hands-on nuclear fuel fabrication. Experience with nuclear fuel injection casting is strongly preferred.   Experience with applying novel fuel fabrication techniques is preferred. Experience with analysis techniques for fuel fabrication is preferred (i.e. SEM, ICP-MS, profilometry) Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence Possess ability to work on tasks that require a multi-disciplinary approach Experience interacting on nuclear methodology with the NRC under an ASME NQA-1 compliant QA environment preferred Ability to consistently deliver to an aggressive schedule Self-motivated: able to seek out tasks and produce value aligned with team goals without waiting for the next assignment Willingness to openly give and accept professional criticism through technical reviews and other venues The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork

Pay Rate: $125 to $130 per hour.

 

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
