Your insights will directly shape the future of fraud prevention in the financial and tax services industry.Day to day, you'll... + Drive Impact: Analyze complex data sets to proactively identify and counter emerging fraud threats affecting H&R Block and our clients + Collaborate & Innovate: Work cross-functionally with fraud detection, product, and customer service teams to design and implement effective risk controls + Lead Investigations: Conduct root cause analyses and develop actionable solutions to prevent and remediate sophisticated fraud schemes + Champion Automation: Utilize analytics to streamline manual processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy across the organization + Visualize Success: Create dashboards and visualizations that provide clear oversight into fraud trends, performance, and user experience + Communicate & Educate: Partner with compliance and customer service teams to share insights and foster a culture of fraud awareness + Stay Ahead: Keep abreast of the latest fraud trends and tactics, ensuring H&R Block remains a leader in financial security What you'll bring to the team... + At least five years of advanced data analysis experience, ideally within payments, e-commerce, fintech, or cryptocurrency + Proven track record developing and executing fraud strategies in financial services + Expertise in SQL, data visualization, and presenting findings to diverse audiences + Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy + Experience investigating payment fraud, identity impersonation, and account takeover attacks + Ability to work independently, mentor others, and thrive in a collaborative team environment + Eagerness to learn, grow, and innovate in the fraud prevention field + User-focused approach, balancing pragmatic solutions with exceptional customer experience It would be even better if you also had... + Proficiency in Splunk, Python, PowerBI, Looker, or similar tools + Degree in analytics, data science, statistics, or related field + Experience with clustering, classification, and link analysis + Background in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments + Experience designing and implementing product-level fraud and risk controls + Collaboration with modeling, data science, and intelligence teams to automate controls and processes Why work for us Since 1955, we have been leaders in tax preparation, financial services, and small business solutions. Pay Range Information The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
